I am having a major discussion with myself here. I am supposed to make
lifetime today. I have this new pair of size 10 jeans. They are so fine.
They also weigh about a pound all by themselves.

My scale this morning says 159.5. My averages show 3 pounds lost since I
made goal. The official ww loss for the same time is .2 or some such. I
know if I go in my old cotton shorts outfit, I am going to weigh in
officially down 2 or 3. If I go in my new size 10 jeans everyone is going
to see how thin I really am now, but I am most likely not going to show my
actual loss.

Ah decisions decisions.... And thank goodness I get to make em instead of
being flat up against the goal number and forced to wear the shorts.

I am sittin here about in tears. When that 159.5 showed up? I have not
been in the 50's on any scale since I was a teen. And the other day
grandbaby got inside one of those tube things at the park and would not come
out, and I said to myself Hey, there are Kids that weigh what I do, betcha I
can go get her. In I went. Lotsa room. Makes me dream of airplane seats.
We both sat there and laughed like loons. I have a new life.

I'm just delighted for you Lesanne. Go in the size 10 jeans...even if you
don't lose, you'll still feel good after the NSV.

Wear the shorts. You know how successful you have been and so do we.
You can go in the jeans next time.

Nice NSV too. Just goes to show how trained we get at not seeing
ourselves as we really are, and instead see the big person we used to
be.
I had to get dressed rather quickly the other day and accidentalkly
put some 36" jeans on. I didn't realize till I found my 38"s by the
bed! (down from very tight 42"s a year ago).

Go naked. Then they'll see how thin you are, and you won't worry about
tipping the scales with jeans! <G>

Congrats!

What a great couple of stories, Lesanne. I hope you've still got plans
to write your story for WW magazine. You tell your experiences in a
very engaging way.

Congrats on seeing 159 on your home scale. Did you take a picture?

I have the perfect solution for you, wish I could say it's original but it's only
an observation I have made while watching others. Why not wear those slinky jeans
that are making you feel so wonderful. When you get to the ww store, slip into
the bathroom and change into your lighter shorts ... after weighing, right back
into the bathroom to change back. You'll get your lighter weight, also letting
others see how gorgeously slim you really are. Then again, you could just wear
those jeans and consider it some clothing cushion for colder days ahead (although,
I'm not sure you ever get any colder days). On the other hand, even wearing those
cotton shorts I imagine others are seeing you slimmer than you realize. I always
feel fat when wearing my sweats. Funny thing is, those are the items I tend to
get more comments from (maybe I really do look fat? <G>). Now aren't I the
helpful one. <EG>

I am so thrilled for you Lesanne, know how wonderful you are feeling - had tears
(happy ones) in my eyes just reading about your newest victory. This is one area
I know everyone is sincere in their replies of joy. We all honestly do know how
you feel. We've also reached milestones that we couldn't dream of before. And
what wonderful feelings they are!

I had a similar experience yesterday regarding my new size vs. former size -
nothing child related though. <G> Had that nasty visit to the dentist to have the
root canal done. When sitting in the chair, I realized there was nowhere to put
my arms. There was too much excess room on the chair, so arms didn't quite reach
the armrests comfortably when reclining. The belly is gone, so couldn't really
rest them there either. What a fun dillema to find myself in. LOL

Congrats on your newest accomplishment hon. Please do let us know what path you
chose this morning!

Oh cool dentist chair story. And I wore the jeans and still came in down.

Not sure about your center Lesanne, but ours has a bathroom. Go weigh in
the cotton shorts, then change into those oh so fine size 10's and strut
your stuff, girl!!!

Gosh - wear the jeans & let them see how skinny you are! That is as long as you
are still going to be under goal! The other option is to change into your shorts
for weigh in & change back before the lecturer calls you up to receive you stuff
& give your speel ;-D What a wonderful decision to have to make ;-D

Go in the shorts to weigh in, and take the new jeans to put on after,
then do a fashion parade! :) I'm presuming there's a ladies loo
somewhere you can nip into for a quick change...

Personally, I don't think I'll ever make a Dorothy Perkins* size 10
again, but it will be nice not to have to shop at Evans**, and I'm
aiming to get back in my wedding dress, that I made a size 14*** nearly
22 years ago!

*Skinny teens shop
**Chubby ladies shop (has some nice clothes, mind.)
***Burda pattern

You've done so well Lesanne. I played in one of those kids playgrounds
for the first time earlier this year. It does make you feel good
doesn't it? A whole new range of activities have opened up to me.

Anyway, congratulations on your new life and on reaching lifetime :-)

LOL. We are going to celebrate the #2 birthday of the little tornado today.
In case I have not told you guys, my daughter was a holy terror when she hit
puberty. I was still a CPA then, and my cohorts dubbed her "hurricane
Susan" because of the disruptions she caused. She is 35 now, and just now
doing what many older teens do (college) Finally. Anyway, the whole town
calls Amber the "little tornado" *spawn of the hurricane*

We are going to go to padre island and have lunch, so I have already planned
my ONE giant onion ring, a grilled tuna sandwich (will only eat a bite or
two of the bread), cereal and fruit for breakfast, veggie soup and birthday
cake for my evening snack. And a bunch of running and swimming on the
beach.

Who says we cannot have it all?

Sounds like those cyclonic winds started with Grandma!

Swimming??? Swimming! I just turned on all the heat in this place.
I did walk to get the Sunday paper in shorts and was chilled for the 8
blocks. FALL IS HERE!

Enjoy your mini-vacation, birthday celebration.

Yeah, we did not stay on the beach too long, in the middle of the day like
that it is pretty hot and we didn't want to get sunburned. So here I am
back at home again, full of cake, ugh, I don't like this feeling AT ALL.
And I ate 2 giant onion rings. And instead of grilled fish, 3 big fried
shrimp, one fried oyster, a couple of big french fries and some cole slaw.
Can you say target points for the rest of the week????

Ow.

Betcha I am not 159 tomorrow.

I was going to not mention where the wind originated, how evil of you to
point that out.......

I'm not that thin that I scare myself but have scared others (G)

Oh, too hot, huh. (sympathy is not high on the wave lengths right

Oh, I will sympathize with the FRIED FOODS. You are entitled
occasionally. I can see you sticking to target and FLEX this week.
Good luck.

The cyclonic genes were so evident how could I miss.

I've been doing that, and more, ever since. The local indoor
playground has an awesome bouncy slide (think bouncy castle, only very
high and designed to be bounced/slid down) and I finally decided to go
for it earlier this year. I look forward to playing on it now ;-) And
to think, for me it's only going to get better.

There is a very fat woman who does crafts with my Mom at church, or used to,
who came in a few weeks ago and looked at me and said loud "YOU should NOT
lose any more weight, you look TERRIBLE, ..... Gaunt!"

So I smiled and said "thank you" which is a similar reaction to what I used
to do when people asked if I was gaining weight..............

Obviously scared her. She declined to go out to lunch with us, said "I am
sure you all are not going somewhere that I want to eat..." and has not been
seen since. It is too bad. I am the last person to judge someone else who
is not ready to change. My own daughter dropped out of WW two weeks ago
when her 10 wks were up, and I did not comment at all, except to say I loved
her however...

LOL, I had to rub in the too hot bit. This morning not so nice. Gotta mow
the yard, and it is 80 and humid out there. Very very humid. And millions
of mosquitoes. I did not eat my planned veggie soup in the evening and went
to bed in my usual state of mild hunger. This morning 160. I will stick to
lean protein, fruits and veggies and whole grains today and betcha tomorrow
I see that 159 again. Nothing like a big chunk of cake to fool the ole
metabolism. Not to mention making one feel like jittery rot all evening.

My aunt said something similar to me (she weighs around 350 lbs and is
probably about 5'4"). I just brushed it off, figuring she was jealous or
something. She makes out as though she is fit and thin, when it's really
the opposite and would never admit to having a weight problem. She has high
BP and other health problems, had an appendix surgery about a year ago and
got a terrible infection, blamed it on the doctors, when in reality it was
more likely due to her weight and the incision being buried by so much fat
that it was unable to heal. She is the first to say that she can't
understand why her BP is out of control as she takes her meds just as she is
told to... Funny because she lost about 150 lbs when her first husband died
about 9 years ago and was even off the high BP meds. She got together with
another guy about two years later and packed all that weight and more back
on.

I'll bet you look fantastic Lesanne! So don't you let what her or anyone
else says, get to you. You've done an amazing thing, losing all that
weight. You should be proud of what you've accomplished!

Well, mosquitoes at this time of year certainly chills my jealousy -
you can have it.

I usually did not have any hunger but probably because I snack too
much. I do know the BUZZ of too much cake/sugar. It is still a
relatively new feeling to feel that type of discomfort from sugary
stuff.

Fingers crossed that our cushions remain at the scale and not on the
rear end!!! (g)

Hot and humid here too! Thought we would get some relief from the AC bill,
but I guess not for a while. Also I think there should be some relief from
mowing when the leaf raking starts. Not just mosquitoes either, fleas,
crickets and all sorts of other crawly things. I guess the weather is good
for bugs too.

We've got lots of creepy crawlys here too, in the form of spiders! My
parents were away for four days and when they returned their large patio was
covered with webs and spiders that could carry you away (not quite that big,
but I'm scared of spiders so even little ones look BIG). I couldn't believe
how many there were! I don't remember ever seeing so many at one time
before. We did have a really hot, dry summer, maybe that's why?

don't blame you one little bit for being hesitant towards your weigh in attire.

It is 53F outside and I'm in walking shorts at home, inside and quite
chilly. WI is about an hour away!!!!!!!!!!!! It is raining outside.

Can you say "shivering" which might earn me some activity points!

Just yesterday I ordered those "convertible" pants that have a zip off
leg. They can be shorts or pants. Is this going to extremes? I
think YES!!!

My bet - up this week!

Temps are supposed to hit close to 80 here today, guess we are having our Indian
Summer. Yet I sit here in my jeans, still freezing from overnight chill. The
thermostat says it's 74 in the house ... couldn't prove it by it my internal
thermostat. <G>

My son has a few pairs of those convertible pants, loves them. I don't think
you're going to extremes at all ... ya gotta do what you gotta do. Just remember
if you are a few ounces up, there are extra zippers on those pants. <g>

The house temp is 67.5F. I just returned from my meeting and turned
on the heat.

Ounces would have been a nice gain. Pounds!!!

Yes, even those zippers will add. I hope those pants arrive by next
week's WI (G)

Jeans might have thrown me over. I restarted Journalling today.
