Oh, have a good time Coleen, sounds like it'll be nice and relaxing......

I love to cross-stitch, haven't done so for at least 2 1/2 years (since our
son was born).

That sounds wonderful, Coleen! I have recently taken up cross stitching myself
(partly in an effort to curb the night time bingeing), and a whole weekend with
other cross stitchers sounds fantastic! You have fun now!

I'm going to start mine up again tonight. I've cross-stitched
Christmas stockings for my husband and my daughter, so now I have to
get my son's finished by December. It'll keep me out of the cupboards
anyway. And it's a good excuse to watch mindless television ;-)

I've decided to take it up again too Erin. I've cleaned a spot on one end
table and set up my stuff there, so now I just have to get comfy and start
stitching. You're right, it is a good excuse to watch mindless television.
I used to watch alot more of it before I got my computer, but now seem to be
on there more than the tv. I usually just listen to it while stitching...

I watched a 3 hour episode of Fear Factor last night which would have
been perfect for doing cross stitch but it was so cold here last night
that I didn't even want to think about it. It's supposed to be warmer
tonight so I'll sit down and do it while I watch the final of Fear
Factor ;-) I really need to get going on it before I run out of time.
It'll be December before I know it.

although I'm still a newbie and kind of teaching myself I find it very
relaxing!

Yes, time does go fast once September is done with. It will be Christmas
before we know it. I ordered my son his first Christmas present about two
weeks ago. I never get started this soon, but since it was on sale at
Mastermind Toys I thought "Oh what the heck" and ordered it. It got here
three days after I ordered and already wrapped too!

The stores here are already putting out their Christmas displays. Very
dangerous for a Christmas addict such as myself...lol...

Starting early can be a good thing, especially when using sales and
clearance catalogues. I've had my daughters birthday present put away
for over a month now, and her birthday isn't until November. It
spreads out the expenses which helps.

Oh, yes, we had a wonderful time -- except it was very cool and rainy for
most of the weekend. We were inside stitching most of the weekend, but had
to go about a half mile for our meals and a half mile back afterwards, but I
walked every time, so that helped. We also had a chef that prepared our
meals, luckily they were very "healthy" and for the most part WW friendly.
We will see after weigh in tomorrow. :-)

It was a wonderful time. I love to cross stitch and it keeps my hands busy
and you certainly can't (at least shouldn't) eat while stitching. :-) You
should try to find at least a few minutes each day to stitch, I know it
makes me a better person.

We had a most wonderful weekend. We had about 22 ladies and we all had a
most wonderful time. I rode up with Julie and we stopped at a cross stitch
shop before we made it to the retreat, so we didn't leave the rest of the
weekend --even when four car loads of stitchers went to the cross stitch
shop. Julie and I were going to a fabric shop but we were having so much
fun stitching that we decided not to leave. And we had so much fun that we
decided that we need to do this every six months or so instead of only once
a year. Yippee.

Yes, we had a BLAST. I was having so much fun that another stitcher and I
stayed up ALL NIGHT on Friday night. I finally went to sleep about 3:15 on
Sunday morning and slept until 9:15, but that is all the sleep I got all
weekend. So I spent most of today catching up on sleep. I can't wait until
our next one -- hopefully in six months instead of twelve.

I don't fine it terribly relaxing, but it is rewarding. And keeping

You too huh, Erin? I LOVE the Christmas store we have here in the mall.
It's all calendars and board games and CHRISTMAS stuff! AND they play
Christmas music non-stop in there! I LOVE it but it's only open from
October to January each year. *sigh*

Maybe they'd hire me part time a couple nights a week in there. I'd LOVE
it!

I'm not a Christmas addict, but I love English chocolate and I don't buy it
often. Today, because my local supermarked is retrofitting I found Terry's
Oranges for only $1.99. I must have bought ten of them. This may sound
like a no-no, but I can have 3 pieces and it's only 3 points, when I get an
urge I can't control.

Oh god, don't even get me started on Christmas. I'm already counting
down the weeks until I can go to the tree farm and choose my Christmas
tree...lol... I'm a total addict. You should see the amount of
Christmas stuff I have, not to mention to Christmas music collection.
I drive my hubby nuts ;-)

My town doesn't have a Christmas shop :-( The department stores have
really good Christmas displays though. Enough to keep me happy.

If you're anything like me you'd probably end up spending all your pay

Yuuummmmm. I *love* those oranges. They're expensive here so I don't
buy them often at all. I enjoy eating chocolate in small amounts so
always have some good quality chocolate in the cupboard. The hard part
is keeping my husband away from it ;-)
