View Full Version : One of those Days

Hi All,

Just wanted to check in. Having *see subject*. I'm tired, I haven't eaten
much at all today and I just feel weepy :| Yes, it is THAT time of the
month, too.

Meh.

Anyway, since starting doing the WW thing, I have been more aware of what is
going into my mouth and admittedly, there are days when I think, "I can't do
this anymore....." but I keep going, because I remember WHY I am doing this.
Compare feeling tired all the time to knowing that eventually you are going
to start feeling good......

My biggest issue right now is support. Although my husband is very
supportive, I am basically going this on my own. I can't afford to joing WW
(sorry, but they ask for short of your first born....it just doens't work
when you are on a limited budget) so I have turned to doing it online.

*Deep breath*

Just wanted to vent!

Thanks.

It's one of the things we are here for! Remember, some days are better
than others, and at that time of the month, depression is mostly
chemical! (BTDT in spades!) Hang on in there, things do get better,
and shout any time you need us.

I know there are some on this ng that have been very successful on their
own. I am one of those that need that weekly meeting. As far as being able
to afford it....I saved enough on the junk food (chips, snacks, etc) to more
than pay for the weekly fee. I also finally convinced myself that I am
worth it, and I couldn't *afford* to be without it. My husband is basically
supportive, but not in the same way as the other members of my group.

I use WW Online Canada and this group for support. There are meetings where
I live, but they're at an inconvenient time for me. I sometimes feel as you
do about giving up and just going back to my old way of life, but then I
think, "heck I've lost 35 pounds since February, I'm fitting into clothes I
haven't worn for years and I feel great, so why would I go back to feeling
like crap!" Anyway, even during the summer when DH was ill/recovering I
didn't follow the WW program completely, but I pretty much maintained my
losses and have just started to lose again over the last three weeks. This
is a way of life I would like to maintain for the rest of my life and
although we all have days when we want to 'give up' and perhaps we will slip
up once in awhile, all we can do is jump back OP and do our best to stay
there. Being OP part or most of the time is better than not being OP at
all. Good luck to you. Use this group for the support you need, that's
what we're here for.

Hang in there, girl! A tablespoon (about .5 oz) of M&Ms is 1.5 pts, and
worth every bit! Eat them slowly, and pay attention so you don't
accidentally eat the last one in a rush, thinking there are more!

Have a long soak in a hot tub (while kidlets are napping or in bed, if you
have them). A bit of bubbles helps, too. :-)

I have those days, too, but, after 6 months on the program, they aren't as
frequent as they were in the beginning. I use WW online, because I really
don't want to attend meetings. It is not supportive in the sense that there
are counselors available or that I have to report in for my weigh-in every
week, but I made a commitment, and it helps keep me accountable. And there
are chat groups associated with WW online, so you could go in there for
support. They also have a lot of advice sections to help.

Otherwise, just know that eventually WW becomes a habit. I suspect that I
am eating more like a thin person at this point. I have times that I just
pig out, but most of the time I eat healthy, low-fat, high-fiber foods and
enjoy them. Heck, I probably eat better than most thin people. I have to
be more careful. You'll get there. :-)

Hehehe! Managed an 8 point meal today: sausages, 3 points (Co-op own
brand low fat - very tasty, and 1.5 points each); lo fat oven chips, 3
points; carrots and broccoli, 0 points; and a big fat Muller Lite
yoghurt for desert, for 2 points. Something from all the food groups,
tasty, filling, good for us all.

If it makes you feel any better, I've never been to a WW meeting in my
life. I've done this entirely on my own with the support of my husband
and this group. It can be done! :-)
