View Full Version : HHH & update

Sonya

Hi everyone,

I re-introduced myself a month ago, then had computer problems, so haven't been
able to read this group. I missed you! I just had to hit update on all of the
1000's of posts that I missed, so congrats to all the losers, and to everyone
else, keep your chin up! Like I have to constantly tell myself, tomorrow is a
new day.

I have been on WW for four weeks now, and have lost 10.2 pounds during this
time. I haven't been great at counting points, but I have been exercising. I
walked for an hour 7 times last week. This HHH challenge is really motivating
me. So is the great feeling I am getting from regular exercise, both mentally
and physically. The insomnia I had been experiencing for the last few months
is gone. That hour of walking is definitely my meditation time. I am loving
it!

It feels great to be back. I'm looking forward to hearing all about how you
are all doing!

Sonya,

Welcome back, I know about computer probems I had some myself last week.
When you cannot get online and read this newsgroup it seems as if a part of
your body is missing.

Thanks, Erin! Good to 'see' you again! How's life down in NZ? We are very
excited as we are spending a month in NZ over Christmas. My goal for that
month will be to maintain, as the combination of Christmas, my mother's
cooking, and just getting reacquainted with all the good food that I miss will
be deadly!

It's good to "see" you again too. I was wondering where you'd gone to.

Pretty good. A wee bit stressful but moving in the right direction I
think. Spring is springing and that's always a good thing ;-)

We will be in Fairlie (are you still in Timaru?). I am from there, and my
whole family lives there. My husband has never been there over the summer, so
he is especially looking forward to the trip.

Oh, I remember now. Sorry, you have told me that before. Yes, I'm
still in Timaru, for now anyway. I'm applying to study in Dunedin next
year so if I get in I'm not sure when we'll be moving. It will depend
on how long it takes to sell the house. If I'm still here, maybe we
could get together for coffee or something. I love the drive to
Fairlie.

What are you going to study in Dunedin? I went to T.Coll and Uni there.

That would be awesome. I think I remember that your son is the same age as
mine (he is 20.5 months now). Maybe they could play. I know that my son is
going to be dying for playmates!

Sounds good! He absolutely loves NZ, and we would ideally like to move back
before my son starts school. Not sure if that will happen though, as we only
have about 3 years, and a lot to do in those 3 years!

This is a good place for kids to go to school, although they're
cutting the schools in this area from 36 to 16. That's a lot of
schools that have to close :-( Good luck getting back.

My son was born on the 9th. I have to tell you about the "oh my goodness this
is a small world" moment that I had today. I was going through my son's cards
etc from when he was born. My parents had put his birth notice in the Timaru
Herald, and I happened to notice that your son's birth notice was right above
mine! Too weird!

That is very disappointing to hear about the schools. I hope that the overall
quality of the education is not diminshed, though it will be hard for it not to
be.

Thanks. I just have to get one more piece of paper signed by a JP and
I can drop it in the post. I had to write an essay as part of the
application, and I'll tell you, it was the hardest essay I've ever
written. Now onto the long and agonising wait to see if I get in.

Hopefully they'll leave the best schools open and the influence might
rub off on the kids from the not so good schools. I can live in hope

They said everyone should know by early November. There is a lot of
competition for spaces though so I'm trying not to get my hopes up too
much. Although, that said, I really do hope I get in. I've wanted to
be a midwife since I was in high school.
