Lesanne,
I re-read this post over and over and I'm still not sure I understand
what you mean. What do you think is really going on at these Sunday dinners?
My grandma has all of the aunts, uncles and cousins over averaging around 35
or so for dinner every Sunday night. I was just wondering if some people
have forgotten that they can't eat as much since they have lost weight and
their stomachs got smaller. Since I kind of tend to let myself be free, I
eat more than I can really handle and don't realize that I've eaten WAY too
much until afterwards. I *know* it's a matter of just being more aware, but
it's easier said than done. I wasn't sure if I was alone on this one and I
was hoping maybe others would have tricks that they use to help avoid this.

Are the dinners fun for you? Sometimes there is tension being with so
many family members, and eating becomes a comfort and tension reduction.

Also, sometimes, it's just that your mom or grandma expect you to eat.

Sometimes it's just that grandma's food is so good!!!

I *know* it's a matter of just being more aware, but

One trick would be to plan for yourself ahead of time *exactly* what you
decide to eat. The menu is probably pretty similar from week to week.
You certainly could allow yourself some treats for that one day, but
remember to keep it in moderation.

Well, what I was trying to say, is when I overeat, it is usually because
something is making me nervous enough that it is very hard for me to be
"more aware". Or even "aware" at all. And yeah, to answer your other
question my stomach is definately shrunk!! But I usually know about how
much I can eat now. Or if I have a doubt about something I deliberately eat
really slow? Like today, we ate at KFC. I had one strip, real slow,
checked in with the tummy, and then had one more... Normally I eat foods
that are very low in fat, so I was real careful to listen to my stomach
there. I also ate 3 potato wedges. Believe it or not, that was plenty of
lunch. If I were there with a large group, I may have been distracted
enough to eat the whole order of strips and all the potatoes. See what I
mean? As it was, I was comfortable, with just Ma and one friend, and I was
able to pay close attention to the food.

Oh, and I forgot to answer the other part. If I have to eat in a situation
like that, I plan ahead of time exactly what I am going to eat. Or in
general if it is somewhere that I don't know what is up. And I save lots
and lots of points.

No one can eat like anyone else nor should they try. Each of us have
our own needs for daily calories or in WW's case, POINTS. We all need
to remember that. Our individual bodies have differing demands for
nourishment.
