I got attacked by some freaky virus again. Getting billions of e mails that
are paralysing my computer, but the computer itself is not infected. So I
am going to be scarce for a bit. Hope all are doing well.

Yup, that's the Swen virus. Depending on the mail software you ' re using,
you should be able to set up some filters, so that the mails go straight to
your deleted items. let me know if you need some help!

I use Mailwasher every time I log on: takes 5 minutes to delete 400+
email versions of the virus from the server, rather than having to
download them THEN delete them. This thing is a pain in the bum, but
harmless unless you open it.

We had a problem at work like that. Most of the computers were protected
with Anti-Virus software, but there were a few gaps in our network that
allowed the virus in. The virus in the non-protected computers replicated
and flooded the other computers with junk e-mails, as well as directly
replicating onto their computers. Although their antivirus software
quarantined the files, they lost performance since the quarantined files
were taking up both physical and temporarly space on their computer. After
we plugged the gaps, purged the quarantines, and set up the computers to
delete files instead of quarantining them, we stopped having problems.

yes, that is the one. I am erasing it from the web mail box, but it fills
the thing up every night so my regular mail bounces. I tried to filter it
through outlook, but my computer is slow and it downloads before deleting,
so the freaking computer is busy for hours.........
