Default Unexpected (good) side effects of LC.

om...
Before LC, I had about the worst possible diet. I primarily ate a bag or

two
of potato or tortilla chips (12 oz bags) a day, never eating vegetables.

That's transfats, saturated fats, and maybe a little unsaturated fats
leftovers that they didn't manage to hydrogenate fully Potato is not very
vitamin rich to start with (except for vitamin C), and I doubt any good
stuff there could have survived the industrial process...

I almost never had meals, just bags of chips. Once a week I'd go to a

Chinese
pig-out buffet and pile high 3 or more plates of nothing but General Tso's
chicken, sweet and sour pork and crab rangoon.

The Chinese buffet is probably were you had all your vitamins and oligo
elements for the whole week. lol
No wonder your hair improved. I bet your skin is also much better. Both are
very sensitive to micro-nutriments and overall body health. Actually, a
*good* dermatologist can spot a *lot* of health conditions just by the look
of your skin and hair...
I don't think it's as much a matter of eating less carbs than it is a matter
of eating proper fats and vitamins.

Default Unexpected (good) side effects of LC.

My minor digestive problems and hot flashes cleared up.

I'm a male with very long hair and as I've entered my 30s my hair has
started to get drier and more brittle. After one month of LC my hair is
softer, shinier and has more body than ever before.

These sound like effects of more or better fat in the diet.

I don't know if I'd call this good, but my facial hair grows much faster
now. If I want to go out in the evening, I have to shave a second time.

Anyone else have any unexpected, good side effects while low-carbing?

I stopped having to take antacids 3-4 times a day, and now I take one every
couple of months!

Mine's gone curly.

I used to need 8-9 hours of sleep a night. Since low carbing, I can't
sleep more than 6 1/2. It's still lights out after the evening news,
but I'm at work by 7 and out around 3. The traffic is nicer, I get more
work done in the quiet early hours, and I can shop even at the stores
that close at five. But the long evenings can get boring.

Saving y'all's presence, of course.
