Default Slimfast diet success

Anyone here had success with the Slimfast diet? I joined their site. Did
a meal plan for 1500 calories a day (their recommended amount for my
weight). I intend on doing my regular exercise routine. Heading out to
the store tomorrow to by shakes and bars (but I'm opting for low carb bars
as I like their taste better), and to stock up on baby carrots, veggies,
salad stuff and a few lean cruisines. Any tips for getting the most success
out of it?

I had a friend who lost a lot of weight using SF and Frozen diet dinners
with fruit in between. On Sunday she ate normal meals. I don't mean she
pigged out, just ate cooked food instead of the drinks and frozen dinners.
The last time I saw her she was still thin.

Do you plan to do this the rest of your life? Are you just trying to lose a
few pounds and then go back to your regular eating habits?
It seems a waste of time and money unless you have a plan to stick to from
now on.

I doubt many in this group, if any, have tried the SlimFast diet to lose
weight. Most have adopted a reduced calorie diet consisting of regular food
they intend to eat the rest of their lives. In addition to the reduced
calorie diet we've added some type of regular exercise to our program.

I'm not saying it can't be done on SlimFast but it's not the best choice
available. Many people on this type of diet regain everything they've lost
when they return to regular eating since they never learned to eat properly.
Are you preparing for the return to regular eating and are you including
exercise?

I have a friend who went from about 180 to 130 using the SF plan and kept it
all off. She has since had two more children and got right back down to her
desired weight - using SF. She exercises every day and says that's her main
reason for success.

Angie - exercise is a must for this diet and it will work. Just a short-term diet though

I'd use protein power rather than their
bars and shakes. See my post to your
other thread.

Like any other plan that you don't develop
completely on your own, after awhile you'll
start to develop doubts--especially when
the first stall hits. Before that happens
and you give up, learn enough about
yourself, nutrition, supplementation and
exercise so that you can develop your own
plan. Then, when stalls hit, you'll know
how to make adjustments or stay the course
rather than doubt the plan and give up.

I think so. In the past month she's posted about surgery, liquid diets,
and now Slimfast. What will it be next week? Hoodia? Slimming teas?

Maybe instead of you being so judgmental, you could try to be helpful. But
no, your history with me is to always judge me and make snide comments to
me. Perhaps I am just trying to see what might work best for me. I don't
see anything wrong in asking questions and then figuring out for myself what
might work best FOR ME.

My goal RIGHT NOW is to get weight off the fastest way possible because of
some physical and medical ailments I have. Then I will worry about
contining to lose weight, and keeping the weight off long term. I need help
right now and fast.
