Default in need of a little help

O.k here's the problem... I am starting my 3rd week on induction, I have
lost about 10lbs so far. But the last 3 days I have put on .25lb, and have
not moved from that mark, I drink plenty of water and get a good work out
at the gym at least 3x's per week. On a typical day I will eat...
Breakfast- 2 egg omellette w/tbls of creme and 1oz. of cheese and a
lg.coofee w/2cremes (trying to give that up)
Lunch- 2 cups of red leaf lettuce, 1/2 cucumber, 1oz. of cheese and 1
tbls. of dressing
Super- always just some kind of meat ( chicken, ribs, steak and once ina
while pork)
in between if I'm hungry I will snack on celeryw/ creme cheese on it.
So what gives? I am a 29yr. old female and my weight is 151.25, I have
about 20lbs. to lose and would like to before summer vacation! My doctor
has told me that I have a "borderline" underactive thyroid and retests me
every 3 month's, could that be it? I am getting a bit discouraged, and
advice would be appreciated!!
Thanks to all in this group, who give kind words to those who may need
them.

First off, most people stall during week 3, so don't worry about that.
If you're still stalling in week 6, then it's probably something to
think about. The initial 10lb loss means you're at least doing the
diet correctly so far.

Second, with only 20 lbs to lose, you'll have to also (1) watch
calories, and (2) rely on exercise more. Sorry, them's the breaks.

Er... could this be T.O.M. water gain?

Since everyone's body and system are different, I'm not sure if this will
help or not (I am no expert on this -- just struggling along as best I
can!). However, *I* found that I had to cut back on cheese consumption --
down to about 2 oz a day at the most. I no longer use it for snacks, just
cook with it in small amounts for main meals. I don't know why, but once I
cut back on cheese, I was released from my stall and dropped a quick 5lbs!

Hope this helps,
Joan J

Cheese and nuts tend to be stallers. They're easy to overeat, and
since calories still count at 100 cals/ounce for cheese and almost
twice that for nuts people end up inadvertently eating at a
maintenance level for a weight they don't want to be at. Easy trap to
fall into.
Welcome and take care,
Carmen

Induction only lasts 14 days. You're aware of the constant stream
of people who stalled *because* they stayed too low, right? The
single most important idea in the entire Atkins program is that
loss is better at CCLL than at lower levels.

But the last 3 days I have put on .25lb

No you haven't. Reality check: fat and water are not the same
thing. If you have too measure out a small glass of water and
the same weight of butter. Just for comparison my water swing
is 6 pounds, so I wouldn't notice anything under one.

and have not moved from that mark

You're in week 3. Almost no one loses in week 3. Do NOT blame
on your actions what happens normally to most people.

I drink plenty of water and get a good work out
at the gym at least 3x's per week. On a typical day I will eat...
Breakfast- 2 egg omellette w/tbls of creme and 1oz. of cheese and a
lg.coofee w/2cremes (trying to give that up)

You're well short of your quota of 25 grams of carb for week 3. Only
2.5 cups of veggies from the salad list is far too little. Veggies.
More veggies.

So what gives?

Summarized in one word: Success. Expended in 2 mo Unrealistic
expectations. Ten pounds. Look again.

My doctor
has told me that I have a "borderline" underactive thyroid and retests me
every 3 month's, could that be it?

No that does not explain your current level of excellent success. But
get tested again in 3 months and insist on the full thyriod panel with
TSH, T3 and T4 levels next time.

I am getting a bit discouraged

Sure, all that success sucks. Now *this instant* stop denying it. No
more self sabotage via creating false problem out of thin air in the
face of normal events. No more self inflicted pain. Stop. Or wallow
in pity at how much success you've had and end up quitting. That would
be fun right? Not!

Gosh Doug, I used to be that way. Glad I changed. It is so painful, in
the long run doing that to yourself. Well said. Its a matter of
changing the thinking process. What you were taught, or what you grew
up with. Reprogramming the mind. The self damage one can do to
oneself. It so unbelievable. Its a honor having someone like you here.
Understanding.
