Local bakery low carb stuff
Just came from one of our local bakeries which has jumped on the LC
bandwagon with a vengance. They have a dedicated LC baker who buys the necessary LC raw products and only cooks LC stuff. When I met with her, she complained that her prices were high, but they just reflected the costs she has to deal with in purchasing the LC stuff. I don't really care about the prices - I'll just buy less or what I can afford, but to have the selection she has come up with is great. They are currently making 4 types of bread - flax, sunflower, plain and cinnamon. Three types of buns including hot dog and hamburger. Pizza shells, pita shells, cheese sticks. And as of today - desserts - macaroons, almond cookies, bran/flax muffins and chocolate brownies. I'm in heaven - I just hope enough people keep buying so that they stay in the market. If this can happen in our small town, it's happening everywhere! Brenda W 205/140/149 |

And what small town is that? And what's the name/address of the bakery?

There are so many newbies to LC that they don't really understand the issue is with starches as well as sugars. I bought an LC cookie from an online vendor. It turned out to be 28 carbs! It still is lower than the regular one, but still unacceptable to me. -- JK Sinrod NY Sinrod Stained Glass www.sinrodstudios.com Coney Island Memories www.sinrodstudios.com/coneymemories |

Our local newspaper did a feature two days ago on a local bakery
(Carole's, I think, in Providence RI) that has gone into low-carb products in a big way. - Anne |
