I used to, until I saw the carb count. I love the crunch. I should have
known it would be starchy, but I only realized it when I tested.

Default Whoa - water chestnuts high carb?

Well if that's all you're eating it's high.. if you are putting them in a
recipe and spreading around the carbs it's not so bad at all.

Oh, I didn't realize that a pile of water chestnuts was what the OP was
going for

I just find it amazing that people will freak out over 6 carbs in a
handful of water chestnuts and yet embrace 6 carbs in an Atkins
"nutrition" bar LOL

I was in a "nutrition center" not long ago, and this guy was gushing
over this (candy) bar that had "only six carbs!"

LOL.. well I think he was talking about snacking on them.. sounded like that
to me anyway. I think the more filling something is, the more people tend to
accept a slightly higher carb count.. to me, water chestnuts are something
to slice up and throw into a stir fry. A bar (can't stand any of them) is
probably more filling and seems like I treat I guess..
