Losing weight the wrong way
I have been dieting for months for my daughters wedding trying to drop
20 lbs. Exercising, dieting...doing everything right......without a big weight loss. Well this past week my mother had a stroke and I have been sitting in trauma units, intensive care and now rehab.....I lost 10 lbs. in one week. What a way to lose weight. Now I am back at work, I will run over to rehab directly after work for the next few weeks. LIFE created a "diet plan" for me. STRESS!! I look at my mother, who is thin, always ate right, exercised and took great care of herself and now she can't walk. But she is 83 years old and it looks as if she will recover....so I imagine all her hard work and effort regarding her health is paying off. The doctors say she is doing well because of the way she took care of herself. I guess all this attention to diet and exercise really does help in the long run. |

Maggie/Linda (which do you prefer?), I'm very sorry about your mother,
but I'm glad she seems to be on the road to recovery. Take care of yourself. And remember that the right goal is long term health and fitness, not fitting into a dress for the wedding :-). Chris 262/130s/130s |

Chris 262/130s/130s I use Maggie as a nickname....but my name is Linda...so you can use either one. ;-) I have no preference. I think this past week I realized that exercise and diet benefits you in the long term......and trying to lose weight to fit into a dress is a ridiculous reason to diet. It is all about health. I think I understand that now. Good health should be the number one goal, with the side benefit of looking good. ;-) |

Sorry to hear about your mother, Maggie. I hope she's doing better.
