Gah, a few friends & I went to Friendly's today. I was pleased to see an lc
menu, and ordered a big salad, and a lc ice cream sundae for dessert. "With
the lc fudge and almonds?" "Yes." She came back, and told me they ran out.. I
asked for plain vanilla then, thinking lc was implied. She then asked me if I
wanted any toppings, to which I said no... and ate the (rather large) serving
of vanilla ice cream. Looking back, did they run out of vanilla ice cream? If
she was giving me a lc dish, why would she ask if I wanted special toppings?

Gah. Otherwise, I'm doing great.

You're too fat to be eating ice cream anyway, so that's what you get and
that's how you'll stay.

It never ceases to amaze me. Once, I ordered chicken wings at a restaurant.
While I was ordering, the waitress and I had a good chat about how I was
low-carbing. She mentioned she has a few friends doing it as well.

I took a couple of bites of my wings when they arrived at my table. I then
asked the waitress if they were breaded, by any chance.
The waitress says "Yeah, they are. I hear Atkins poeple don't like them
because they are high in carbs".

DUH.

There are a few good waitresses. My husband and I tried the new Applebees in
our small town. We mentioned to our waitress that we were doing Atkins and she
said her mother was doing it too. We ordered the steak ceasar salads and they
arrived without the croutons and we hadn't specifically asked her to do this.
We also had refills on our diet Pepsi before we finished the first ones. The
salads were delicious, btw.

Don't eat in restaurants then if you are so concerned about it. Do you
really expect the waitresses to know every detail about low carbing?
If it isn't advertised as low-carb then you takes your chances.
