Garlic Suggestions?
I want more garlic in my diet. I like what I read about it. I take a odor free garlic capsule but I want to start adding real crushed garlic bulbs to my diet. Unfortunately, for me, the garlic when raw is hot and much too strong. Recently, I read that cooking it more than a few minutes (6) robs it of nutrients. So what do you suggest as an easy to fix dish that uses a couple of cloves of crushed garlic but cooked no more than 6 minutes. |

You don't cook it more than 1 or 2 minutes in that format. If you use the dream fields, pasta aglio y oilo |

Then - mmm, they are sweet and garlicy and you can just eat them like candy i use a very small cast iron pan to do it. you can fry up as much as you can fit in the pan and then have as many as you want per day. i can eat like 15 cloves at once that way!! |

Sounds like just what I need to do. After about an hour after eating 2 cloves yesterday, I got right in the face of my SO and commented on the book she was reading. I expected a response but got none. So I'm asking you, do you exude a garlic odor after consuming that much garlic? That's what I'm shooting for. |

Well, i dunno if you're kidding or not but i would imagine it depends on your metabolism. I don't get garlicy but if i eat onions raw i feel like i smell oniony for days. are you going for health benefits or the 51st way to leave your lover? |

I've known people who ate so much damn garlic that they stunk to high heavens. You don't really expect garlic to be some kind of miracle food, do you? |

You don't really expect garlic to be some kind of miracle food, do you? I like Dr. Russell Blaylock's website and nutritional advice at Newsmax.com. He is a big fan of aged garlic: "Taking aged garlic extract is another way to get miraculous results. This special formulation of garlic extract is aged up to a year and is the most extensively researched form of the herb. Countless studies have shown that aged garlic extract increases HDL cholesterol while lowering total cholesterol. Aged garlic extract also: • Prevents LDL from oxidizing • Improves blood flow • Thins the blood slightly • Acts as a powerful antioxidant • Improves immunity (diabetics are • immune-suppressed) AND • Reverses existing atherosclerosis " I'll have to try the 2 minute saute for garlic. I have a tough time with raw garlic even in small amounts in salad. tumbledweedz |
