Default metal taste and too much ... what?

I'm low-carbing for blood sugar and energy, not weight loss. I've been very
low or no carb for a couple of days, suddenly feel adapted to BG readings
in the 80s -- very clear-headed and energetic.

No cravings for sweets -- they'd seem syrupy, icky. Even water tastes too
sweet sometimes.

However my belly feels fed up with bitter, maybe ?acidic/alkali? stuff like
meat and cheese and most low-carb stuff seems to be. Tried cauiliflower
instead of noodles but it feels ?acid/alkali? too. Most fresh veg taste
that way, or feel that way in the stomach, unless they are rather sweet
like carrots.

What would taste really good now would be brown rice or whole wheat or some
light grain, but I'd like to stay low carb, avoid 'insulin reaction'.

Any suggestions? It would be nice to fill up with something bland for a
change.

Losing carb cravings can take 4 to 6 weeks.

Try a protein shake:

* 2 heaping tablespoons or one heaping scoop of Whole Foods 360
vanilla whey protein or Precision Engineered (or equivalent). The
vanilla flavors generally seem to have the lowest carb count. Read
labels before you buy.

* 6-8 ounces of water per instructions.

* Put in blender. Part of that water can be subbed for ice if you
prefer for a thicker shake. Much better IMO if a bit of ice is used.

Variations (less bland)--

* Use your favorite diet soda or sugar free kool aid instead of water.
Tangerine or berry Diet Rite are my favorites.

* Add a teaspoon or two of flaxseed oil to work in some good fats.

* Add a tablespoon of freshly ground flaxseed meal. The meal will
thicken the shake a bit, add beneficial fats, and help add fiber to
your diet. I like to add both the oil and the a bit of the ground
meal to a shake. The flaxseed meal will add negligible carbs; round up
and add a gram.

Estimated analysis per serving (don't have labels in front of me):

Carb grams: Two. Three with flaxmeal
Protein grams: around 17-20
Calories: 80-100, adding flax oil/seed will increase calories.
