SALT
You need a certain amount of salt, it's always good to eat it in moderation.
Weight retention from salt intake is a temporary thing and accounts for a lot of the day to day fluctuation that is natural. It was once believed that too much sodium caused high blood pressure. But it's now known that it doesn't cause it, and only a small percentage of people with hypertension have their blood pressure aggravated by normal amounts of salt. Too much sodium will cause water retention for a couple of days, but plenty of water will help flush it out. I once "gained" 6 pounds of water overnight by overdoing bacon at a brunch buffet. Induction is known for causing somewhat more excretion of sodium and potassium than normal, so most people need to salt their food and some need to add a potassium supplement, or else they get dizzy and/or muscle cramping from electrolyte depletion. -- jamie ) "There's a seeker born every minute." |
