They actually are the most effective ways for obese people
to lose weight long-term.

You're mistaken. Over two and a half years, and
counting....

Hi, I appreciate your post but that isn't what I asked - I am not asking
if I
should go on a liquid diet, only if regular protein shakes would work the
same
as a structured liquid fast... :-)

Hell no. These liquid diets have been designed to provide a good mix of
nutrients. Trying to live off of protein shakes for an extended period of
time would probably land you in the hospital, or worse.

Do you have evidence for it?

Yes, and I've provided the citations to you in the past.

I do have to worry about your diet, though, since it seems
to have caused memory loss. See a doctor.

You forget that ignoranus never lets facts get in the way of his version of
reality. Wasn't it only a few weeks ago that you were having this
discussion and he was so complementary of your success? The discussion was
about how something like 65% of the subjects didn't gain more than 50% of
their weight back? Now that he's being challenged on his stupid
generalizations he's getting defensive and snarky again.

**Disclaimer** I don't recall the exact details and I don't feel like
googling it. It might have even been more than just a few weeks ago and the
65% might be wrong too. I don't have a head for numbers which doesn't make
me a liar, just someone better at reading than at math. This disclaimer is
added because ignoranus is a pathetic moron who has decided that my habit of
truncating decimals makes me a liar while his habit of intentionally taking
information out of context constitutes reality.

Can you please do me a great favor and post evidence that VLCD
``actually are the most effective ways for obese people to lose weight
long-term''.

As I mentioned earlier, I've already provided it for you.
If someone seriously is interested in the citations, they'll
ask. Sorry, Ig, but you just don't matter enough to be
worth the bother of digging it up again for you, just to
stroke your ego.
