Default Product find of the week - zero carb bread

Made by Controlled Carb Gourmet in Hollywood Florida. Here's the
scoop! (I have no affiliation with this company, I'm just a happy
low-carber!)

Per Slice:

Calories 60
Total fat 1.0g 1%
Sat fat 0.0g 0%
Chol 0.0g 0%
Carb 7.0g 2%
Fiber 7.0g 24% (!)
Sugars 0.0g
Protein 6.0g

Ingredients:

Oat fiber/wheat gluten/water, soy protein, corn starch, soy flour,
fiber extract, vegetable oil, rye flour, Splenda, salt, yeast, malted
barley extract, dough conditioner, calcium, spices

Blood sugar before eating 93, one hour after 96, two hours 88. This
was a test from last week. I ate it with butter on it.

Had two slices last night with hotdogs (mustard, onion, dill relish).
BG before 93. After 105.

Price: at my local health food store in Columbus, Ohio it's $4.99 a
loaf with 14-15 alices per loaf. Slices are rather small, but they
handled the bigger than the bun Nathan's hotdogs I had on them.

Toasts well and is not spongy. Has a slight aftertaste that is easily
masked by what is put on it.

Flavors include white, wheat and cinnamon (that I know of).

I had to stop using low carb breads because my BG would go higher than
I care to see it. Same thing for products with sugar alcohols. This is
a good product fit for me and may be good for some of you, too.

I'm concerned about the math, though. Or maybe I don't add it up right. But
if the fiber and the carbs are cancelling each other out (for zero carbs)
then the calories are coming from protein and fat, right? But when I do the
math I see that the carb calories are still there. So (to me anyway) it
seems like there are actually 14g of carbs of which 7 are fiber and
therefore don't count.
(6*4) + (1*9) = 31 cals
60 - 31 = 29 cals
29/4 = 7. something grams of carbs

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to burst your bubble. It's great that
you've found a bread that doesn't upset your blood sugar. But so far, breads
trigger some little craving switch in me and make me want to binge. Which is
odd cuz I don't crave bread.

Anyone out there able to confirm the math for me?

Would you say the bread that I make isn't low carb?
It is 3.4 net carbs a slice.

No you need not explain further. You explained that VERY well.
I've always been pretty much a little thing and I don't stuff much
down the ole pie hole.
I've almost always "ate less and exercised more".

JC says many things are not low carb, regardless of the facts. It's
his sad way of saying "look at me". Just don't call him bald. He's
touchy about that.
