Well let's just say I blew it big time...ugh!! I have managed to gain
6 pounds this past week! And finding it hard to get back on
track...it fusturated me cause I always seem to "blow it". I caved to
the christmas parties, wedding and good ol christmas cheer. I have
found low carb the best way to lose weight and feel satisfied....but I
am on a carb binge!! All those negative thoughts are coming into my
head, "you always blow it", "you can't stick to anything", "your such
a pig"...I feel gross!!
For you guys that stayed on track...awesome!! Please send positive
energy my way, I will get back on track!! Thanks......Jillian

Just hop back on. Remember why you started in the first place back in
October. Christmas is over, get past it and don't beat yourself up.

I used to think, "it's ok this time because it's Christmas and Christmas
only comes once a year." But then I would find myself saying that at
Birthday's, Halloween, Easter, Fourth of July, etc. . . . .

you get the point. Once a year turned into every month or more often.

Next time don't blow it. Think of the effort and hard work it took to get
to where you are and say to yourself that you don't want to go through it
again.

Jillian,

Sending you positive thoughts. Just start eating some of
your very favorite LC stuff and you'll be back on track in
no time. Spend 5 minutes kicking yourself in the butt and
then move on.

1. Most of that is water weight....it will fade once you regain control and
maintain it.

2. Work on regaining control. It is important to develop that skill. There
will be plenty of times in life when you'll eat carby stuff. It is no big
deal, really, if you can regain control of yourself. Practice makes perfect
here.

3. Do some extra exercise if you want to speed up the water weight loss. It
is not necessary, but it does show you how much control you have and that
you indeed will gain water weight quickly if you go off and you're lose it
quickly if you wish. From that you learn to deal with this in stride rather
than getting all messed up in the head.

One day at a time Jillian. Don't wait for New Years Day or Monday or
anything else. Get up right now and clean out any residue of the holiday
cheer. Then plan a trip to the grocery store tomorrow to buy lots of good
food. You can do it. Thin feels way better than any carbs taste!

I'm curious which foods were important enough to you to go off the diet.

Jillian,

The problem isn't what you ate during the holidays. You can burn that off in
a couple weeks. The real problem is the negative thoughts. They don't help,
in fact, they make it more likely you'll continue to cave.

To succeed at dieting you need to support yourself! Give yourself a big pat
on the back for doing as well as you have so far, remind yourself that you
are human, and give yourself a little love so that you can relax and get
back on track.

Self-hatred is never productive. Read your message as if someone else had
posted it. Would you respond with anger or with support and reassurance?
Assuming you weren't our Newsgroup Troll I know you would give warm support.
So give it to yourself, right now!
