Newbie here. Heart Rate Question.
Hi people,
Lost a bit of interest in training before xmas over heart rate whilst training. I usually train very hard especially on cardio work and was finding my heart rate was going to 175-180 which on of the trainers was saying at that rate i would be burning lean as well as fat. Is this true? And if so what sort of range should i be looking at? I am 32 years of age and approx 16.5 stones. As its new year and since last fitness assessment i have seemed to undo the last years fat loss in 2 months so am fairly gutted. Here's to a good year for everyone. Thanks Shaun |

Newbie here. Heart Rate Question.
Hello Shaunus,
I've read that to find your max heartrate you subtract your age from 220. In your case 220-32=188 is your max heart rate. You should get your heart rate to 50% to 75% of your max heart rate to assure your getting a good workout. If you are getting a 96% of your max heart rate then I'd say your doing great. If you got above this I might be concerned, but I doubt you'll get any higher. Keep up the great work, Paul 300/236/175 @ 5'11" and disposed 64 pounds in 18 weeks 3 days "Shaunus" wrote in message ... Newbie here. Heart Rate Question.
Shaunus,
Try to get one hour daily. The higher the intensity the better, but go at a pace you can sustain one hour. lean vs fat - well, you're probably only burning 600 calories/hr or 1/5 a pound of fat. hr - peoples max hr varies quite a bit. Even at 180 it's possible you're not near your max. Shaunus wrote in message ... Hi people, Lost a bit of interest in training before xmas over heart rate whilst training.
