Finn Crisp crispbread
On the way home tonight, I stopped in a German deli that's near my house.
I hadn't been there for a while, but they've remodeled and expanded and I thought I'd see what's new. I spied a box of "Finn Crisp" Multigrain crispbread. Made by Vaasan & Vassan (http://www.vaasan.com/index_eng.html) For 3 crackers, total carbs are 11g, with 2g dietary fiber (net 9g). Not all that low carb, but doable (assuming you're not on induction, anyway). I like to have crackers and cream cheese once in a while, and being on maintenance I can afford the carbs. Usually I have whole-grain types like Kavli, Ak-Mak, or Wasa - or my most recent favorite, Siljan's Crisp Bread (in the big rounds). I picked up a box of the Finn Crisps (along with some delicious refrigerated sauerkraut - made with white wine, and a very NOT low-carb bar of Nestle's Coffee Crisp - first time I've seen them outside of Canada, and I couldn't resist. Ya don't wanna know the carb counts on that, trust me). As soon as I got home, I tried the Finn Crisps, and I really like them! Very light and crispy, with a nice flavor. I'll definitely go back for those on a regular basis. (If I can stop myself from buying more Coffee Crisps while I'm there - but at least I was able to limit myself to only 1/3 of the bar tonight.) Finn Crisp Ingredients a Whole grain rye flour, wheat flour, whole grain oat flour, barley flour, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, yeast, salt, mono- and di-glycerides of fatty acids (emulsifier E 471) Nutritional info: Serving size: 3 pieces (18g) Servings per container: about 10 Calories: 65 Total Fat: 1g Total Carbs: 11g Dietary Fiber: 2g Sodium: 140 mg Sugar: 0 Protein: 2g -- A.
