Hello all. I've been lurking a while and have just decided to join the

fun.
I'm starting my low-carb diet (WOL?) today. I've read Atkins

Essentials,
Protien Power, and Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution. I'm armed with a
bunch of recipes and ready to go. I'm not going to a clinic or signing

up
with a diet company, but I am under a doctor's care to make sure I don't
mess up too much. My doctor is OK with the idea, but not sure how well

it
will work. I'm a type 2 diabetic (12 years or so) and I have a

cholesterol
problem, in addition to being overweight. I don't exercise regularly,

but I
have started again today. I just hope I can maintain the excitement

level
or at least the determination to stay with both diet and exercise.

I don't have any specific question, but will watch the threads for good
advice. Just letting you know I'm here, hoping for some comeraderie and
support.

I have noticed a lot of flamers out there. You guyz can be pretty

brutal
sometimes. Be gentle with me, it's my first time.

What's this? I've got another Canadian tick attached to me? Where's the oil?

Ditto for The Star-Spangled Banner...all I know is:

"Oh say can you see
by the dawn's early light
what so proudly we laaaaa
la la la la la....."

and something about ramparts...
and our flag was still there...

We get alot more of your anthem in tv and in movies...

I am remineded of the movie "My Fellow Americans", where Jack Lemmon and
James Garner find themselves in a crop field and one of them proclaims
he got some purple mountain's majesty up his butt! LOL

Deb
