I'm moving back to Stratford Ontario shortly after the upcoming
holidays. I am trying to come up with a suitable low carb food list
with foods that are easy to prepare while being busy packing and
moving and having my life in a bit of disorganization for a few days
until I get settled in my new home.

I've come up with canned fish so far and salads and eggs.

I'm looking for suggestions.

And remember to take along some condiment so that you don't feel deprived -
mayonaise and low carb ketchup and Cardini's Caesar salad dressing are very
very good. Mayo - make the tuna and eggs so much more interesting. Nuts,
esp. brazil nuts and if you can be bothered, sprinkling some italian herb
mix over your food is also good as it increase your intake of potassium -
important since you might sweat a lot and lose quite a bit of minerals after
shifting around tons of stuff while you move.

I find it funny, and somewhat pathetic, when people use words like
"deprived" and "condiments" in the same sentence. It's part and parcel of
one of the gravest problems that dieters have. This love of food, this
continued obsession with eating, with trying to "tweak" their food intakes
so that they can eat right to the brink of overconsumption....and still
lose or maintain weight. It's a losing game. Walking on the edge of a
cliff.

Deprived? No one on this group even comes close to being deprived. Deprived
over lack of condiments? These are necessities, these condiments of yours?
Necessary for life?

Your reasoning makes no sense. Love of food doesn't necessarily lead to
overconsumption. It's about quality, preparation, variety.

That sounds like a good start. I like tuna salad, egg salad, etc because
they can be made in advance, they keep well, and they don't even need
heating.

Nut butters can also be eaten without prep. On wasa bread if you don't mind
a very few carbs. Or regular nuts as someone said.

Ready-cooked bacon helps, I like Oscar Mayers. It doesn't need refrigeration
till opened.

Also cheese, salad greens.

Have some cooked chicken on hand to throw in your salads.
