Unflavored protein powder

Unjury is a good one. They have a few flavors but the unflavored can be
mixed with low carb beverages and it isnt soy tasting

I use Optimum's "Any Whey". I've added it to all sorts of things, and
it pretty much just blends in.

I buy protein powder from http://www.proteinfactory.com

The site's grown since I started ordering, got a sleek interface, lotsa
exercise-related propoganda, and lots more besides protein powder. But
they still sell good protein powder.

You can pretty much order anything there, any type of powder in bulk,
with any flavor or sweetener you want. Way cheaper than anything you
can buy in the stores. I don't understand why more people don't buy
powders this way generally, it's just so much cheaper than buying those
little tins at a health food store or grocery.

I buy the milk isolate protein powder. I dislike the taste of soy
powders, whereas this stuff tastes good even on it's own:

I get it unflavored and unsweetened for maximum versatility. You can
mix any flavor shake you want, plus use it for baking and such, or even
savory-type recipes instead of sweet.

I reviewed it on their site with some of my favorite recipes:

"I love this stuff. I like the versatility of ordering it plain, and
then mixing it with flavors/sweetners of my choice. It's yummy even
plain. I mix it with a blender and it's quite thick.

To 1/3 cup of the powder, I add 2 TB lecithin and the following:

to make a flavored smoothie: 2 TB any flavor sugar-free DaVinci syrup
and 12 oz water & ice, blend

to make a mocha shake: 2 TB cocoa, 8 oz cold coffee, 4 oz ice,
sweetener to taste, blend

to make pudding: 1/4 package of sugar-free pudding (any flavor) and 12
oz water & ice, blend

to make a "nutty" hot cereal: mix with 2/3 cup water, 2 TB flax seed
meal, nuke then add sweetener & cream

to make pancake batter: 2 TB flax meal, 2 eggs, 2 tsp baking powder,
water to desired consistency"

The serving sizes were different, but a bit of math on the nutritional
facts and it looks like the same stuff as the milk isolate I get from
proteinfactory. But there's not much of a price difference; you have
to buy a full 4 lbs of the stuff to save 21 cents over proteinfactory.

The one you suggested has a flat $4.49 shipping rate throughout the US,
whereas the cheapest shipping I could get from proteinfactory to my
location was $6.53. I'm located in a bordering state (I'm in PA and
they ship from NJ), so presumably other folks could save more on the
shipping and it might be more worthwhile than it is for me.

i ordered some Any Whey from Amazon. The shipping was a flat $4.95.

i have never used protein powder before and i wanted the unflavored to
mix in anything....soups etc. Can't do that with choc and vanilla. :-)

I'm not sure how much you bought, but for a single pound, protein
factory is quite a bit cheaper. And, more importantly, protein
factory's whey protein is the more expensive/superior/slightly less
carby whey protein isolate, rather than Any Whey's isolate/concentrate
blend.

As far as choosing the unflavored whey, that's a wise choice. It
definitely gives you greater flexiblity for savory applications. You
can always add your own sweeteners, cocoa and/or vanilla to it.
