Default hunger and atkins

Have been on atkins for a while now and am noticing no real hunger
pains.. like other diets. Though I get cravings of the mind .. not
the stomach.. such as today I was craving chocolate milk.. but stomach
was on growling..
Is this the norm ? Also I have found diet coke seems to make me
hungry !!!

Lack of hunger is the single greatest advantage of low
carb plans in general and Atkins in specific. There are
a few scheduled time of hunger on Atkins and that's that.

Note that on the one hand you can and should use that
lack of hunger to taper down your portion sizes as you
lose. On the other hand don't use the lack of hunger to
throw your hormone balance off so you body reduces
your metabolism to avoid losing aka "starvation mode".

Though I get cravings of the mind .. not
the stomach.. such as today I was craving chocolate milk..

It can be very hard for some to learn the difference
between a physical craving from the body (distraction
does not work) and mental craving from old habits
(distration does work). Being able to tell puts you far
ahead of the curve on this important point.

Also I have found diet coke seems to make me

It happens for some. Standard issue Atkins principle
for ingredients - If an ingredient makes you more hungry
not less hungry then avoid it.

It's possible you're getting an insulin reaction from the
aspartame. One experiemtn to see if that's what is
happening is to switch to Diet Rite as it uses sucralose
aka splenda instead of aspartame. Worst case is to
avoid diet sodas but I doubt you'll need to go that far.

There is Diet Coke made with Splenda. It has a yellow "Dynamic Ribbon
Device" on the packaging instead of the usual red. I don't think there is a
caffeine-free version of Diet Coke w/Splenda, but could be wrong.

Diet Rite is a solid choice, as all of their sodas are made with Splenda.
Diet RC also appears to now be made with Splenda. Curious that they stuck
with aspartame for so long when they also produce Diet Rite. Glad they made
that switch.

Now if they would start making Coke Zero with Splenda, I'd be all set!!

I don't find Diet RC as often as Diet Rite. Over time I've
noticed that the ingredient list on Diet Rite seems to stay
the same but the ingredinet list for Diet RC changes. I
speculate that the Royal Crown Cola company uses the
Diet RC brand as an experimental one.

I must admit Coke Zero tests pretty damn good for a zero calorie drink

Chocolate cravings can signal a magnesium deficiency.
