Dr, Phil Revisited
Withdrawal Symptoms
Yesterday I attended my monthly meeting of a book club for older women. There has been too much politicking lately about the nature and structure of the organization and two of the leaders were rude to me when I questioned decisions they made at a meeting many people missed. The actual discussion was about "Tuesdays with Morrie" and was mostly concerned with death. This was the first time I had taken my new act on the road and the challenge was too much. The topic, the attitudes, the politics and the bowl of rasins and almonds on the coffee table conspired to keep me nibbling non stop. I recovered my composure and control at home, emailed my resignation from the group and got back on track. Cold Comfort Today being Labor Day , I declared it to also be cookless Monday and for breakfast had a cold sundae: One scoop of farmer's cheese, three prunes, six almonds, six strawberries, an ounce of orange juice, topped with a little drizzle of honey. The rest of the day will be salads, tuna, prosciutto rolled in Swiss cheese annd similar no fuss dishes and tonight we will all wtach fireworks. Meanwhile I found three new book clubs, two within walking distance with a more provocative list of titles and more varied in age. -- Diva ***** Discipline is Liberation |
