Sample of Canadian Diabetes Association misinformation
The following leaflet summarizes the stances of this association about
what it considers to be the right diet: http://www.diabetes.ca/files/JTBcpg03.pdf It promotes starch consumption: "Choose starchy foods such as ... breads and creals, rice, noodles or potatoes at every meal. Starchy foods are broken down into glucose that your body needs for energy." Considering what they say about alcohol, "Alcohol can affect blood glucose levels and cause you to gain weight." it is clear they are spewing nonsense. Obviously they think that starchy foods don't affect blood glucose levels and cause you to gain weight. |
