recipe request
I think that I mentioned to you that my mom is embracing -- with no help
from my dad -- the Sonoma Diet way of eating. Unfortunately, she has a coffee addition (hmm, wonder where I got that from?) and she had a small issue with the Starbuck's Cinnamon Dolce Latte. She said that she's had this three or four times and she is meeting a friend for coffee and wanted to order one. She had figured it wasn't SO BAD because she had it with nonfat milk and no whip but, well, it clocked in higher that she expected. Anyway, I figure that it can be made with sf syrup of some kind. Anyone have a recipe? She has an espresso pod thingie. She'll have to improvise on the foam. -- jmk in NC |

A coffee addiction isn't a problem but a Cinnamon Docle Latte is a long way from a cup of black coffee. Get her drinking cinnamon flavored black coffee and occasionally she can treat herself to a Cinnamon Docle Latte if her daily/weekly calories allow it. Artificially sweetening the drink is only feeding and prolonging her sweet tooth which should eventually be brought under control. -- Cheese http://cheesensweets.com/contact/cheese |

Artificially sweetening the drink is only feeding and prolonging her sweet tooth which should eventually be brought under control. Here's what I drink: I grind my own coffee, an organic medium bean from a brazilian brand Mraquese at Costco. I make a double cup but with twice as much water (because of the celiac diet). I set a brown Melita cone plastic filter on the cup and insert a brown paper filter (better because no chlorine and it also removes bitter oils). and add three Hermestas (sccaharin) tablets, some Frontier vanilla, cinnamon and a trace of ground gloves to the grounds and pour in boiled water slowly. I could use whipping cream treated with lactaid, but prefer it without that. It is absolutely delicious and without the cream is virtually calorie free. -- Diva ****** There is no substitute for the right food |
