I've posted here before that the food industry has people who lie sic awake nights thinking of how to get HFC into more products. If one is careful, there are actually plain canned tomatoes. I buy them all the time for chili and homemade sauces. When one gets into things that say "original RECIPE", it means that yes, you're not just getting plain tomatoes. I'm one of those people who read the ingredients listing in its entirety before deciding to buy. That having been said, the best insurance is to stop buying "products", and just go straight to the source. We're only asking for it when we depend on the food industry to provide all our nearly-ready-made meals for us. If what we eat is important, we can reject 80% of what's on the supermarket shelves and make our own food |

We're only asking for it when we depend on the food industry to provide all our nearly-ready-made meals for us. If what we eat is important, we can reject 80% of what's on the supermarket shelves and make our own food I find a combination works the best for me. Bagged salads and frozen stir-fry vegetables are my convenience foods, since the part of cooking I hate the most is chopping. If I add my own meat to a stir fry or chopped egg to a salad, I have a pretty well-balanced low-carb meal, imo. -- Michelle Levin http://www.mindspring.com/~lunachick I have only 3 flaws. My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws. |
