My mother and I were at a tradeshow tonight and each experienced cool
NSVs:

I had 2 people I hadn't seen in a while tell me how great I looked. One
of them actually walked past me and I had to call her name, and even
then it took a second before she realized who I was! I also had one
former co-worker staring daggers at me - she was always on various fad
diets (cabbage soup anyone?) and never lost a pound. She was quite
obviously not impressed that I had.

And my mother had an interesting encounter with a stranger. We had
plates from the food bar (my dinner ended up being 1 mini hamburger
(very dry), 2 very mini perogies, 2 mini quiches, 1 chicken finger, 1
slice of a melted chicken wrap (about 1") and a cookie). As we were
making our way to the other side of the crowded room this guy (40's)
bumped into my mother (early 60's) and after the "sorry" exchange he
said "Hey that looks good" followed by "and the food does too".
Needless to say she was quite flattered (although if I had heard I might
have smacked him!).

All in all, despite the gain this morning, a good day!

Your mom got hit on! How awesome! .. ok, well don't think of her as your
mom right this second.

It's fun watching former co-workers eat their livers too-perhaps she hadn't
considered Atkins it's quite good for slimming ;-)

Awesome NSVs!

I'm jealous of your mom! I might need to contact her for lessons in
flirting. Somewhere along the way I forgot how to do that, and it's a
skill that doesn't seem to be retained like know how to ride a bike
is. LOL

Good for her.

Maybe, unlike Gerald Ford, you can flirt and ride a bike at the same
time (Ford was challenged to chew gum and something at the same time!)

I'm not as coordinated as Gerald Ford.
