Default NSV and Almost NSV's

One of my long term NSV goals was o fit into a formal dress I had worn back
during the holidays of 1997. It was a off the shoulder floor length green
number with a black velvet bodice with black and green floral embroidery on
the bodice. I wore it exactly once. Well, decided on a whim today to try it
on because I thought it might fit. IT DID!!! Woohoo! I was hoping to wear it
on the cruise we are going on next year for formal night, but by then (year
away) it will almost certainly be too big! I'll have to have it altered
SMALLER! Never had to have something made smaller before! How exciting! I'd
love to wear it before then, but where!?

As for the almost NSV's after trying the dress on I decided to "go shopping"
in my closet. I had given away all my clothes that didn't fit anymore to PH
awhile ago, but couldn't part with all my work clothes from my first two
years of professional working. They were all good clothes and all totaled
cost a bit of money. Well, I haven't lost enough weight yet to quite fit
into those all, but some of them are VERY within reach!!!! I could feasibly
be in them in a month or so. WOHOO! Others still have some time til I get
into them but definitely attainable. I am so glad I never gave those clothes
away even though at one point I never thought I'd ever wear them
again!!!!!!!

It's a good day!

Melissa:

Congrats on your NSVs and your almost (lol) NSVs. I don't have much to
go shopping for in my closet and have no money to go real shopping so
I'll be going baggy...but at least I'll be slim.

I feel much the same! I did some ironing last week (shock! horror!
Kate NEVER does the ironing!), and discovered that I will soon have 14
pairs of trousers that are TOO BIG! I shall have to go shopping in the
fabric stash! Trouble is, I don't want to use up all my nice fabric
making things that will be too big again this time next year!

If you're not concerned about whether your clothes are new or not, I'd go to
the local thrift shop, at least you won't feel bad about giving them away or
throwing them out once they're too big. Once you're at goal you can go on a
shopping or sewing spree!
