Default Cheeseburger salad experiment

I have experimented modifying menu items here at the South Austin Outback
steak house. They have a burger with bacon and I have ordered it
unassymbled, without buns so I could make a salad from the fixins. I have
also had them to add hoc the potato side offering for a house salad to get
fixins toward the same idea. The real cheese burger in peices was the best,
if a little short in quantity, so I tried this idea at home. I bought
preformed ground chuck patties, iceburg lettuce, tomato, American cheese,
hamburger pickles, mustard, mayonaise, and red and yellow and white onions
at our local Congress Avenue H.E.B. grocier. I have eliminated yellow onions
as they were harsh. White and red(prettier) onion seemed to taste the same.
It was very good! I need to adjust the ingredients quite a bit though before
I publish any recipe.

My favorite way to fix burgers is, take frozen ground round patties out and
put them in a big frying that has been oiled, heat one side for a couple of
minutes, turn over and heat the other side, sprinkle Spike on top and turn
again, heat for another minute, Spike and turn again, this time put a mound
of chopped Vidalia or other sweet onion on top, then either a slice or a
handful of grated cheese. Put a lid on the pan and cook a couple of more
minutes until the cheese is melted. I buy the frozen patties either at
Costco or Sam's Club, they come in a tube and are very tasty as well as
handy.

Comes either with or without salt in it. I use the one with sale. My
favorite seasoning for beef, use it on steaks, too.

With salt, not sale.

What's Spike?

A deliciously sexy vampire on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However, I don't
think that is the Spike the poster was referring to.
