**Ducking the Issue -- NOT**
Apparently, I failed to mention in my initial post that I called Dartagnan
as *soon* as I looked more closely at the packing slip and saw that it was meant for someone else (the Fedex label on the outside of the box was indeed addressed to us). Since my husband had placed some orders with Dartagnan, I just thought someone on their end had been a bit overzealous! Dartagnan *suggested* that I keep the mushrooms, since they would have been worthless by the time they were picked up and redelivered (also, they are not packaged but loose in crates). When I asked how to store the duck prosciutto until it could be picked up next week, we mutually agreed that it was not cost-effective for Dartagnan to have that picked up (also the issue of being responsible for perishable food that out of their control). Since this all transpired about 4:45 on a Friday afternoon, the stuff would definitely have to sit *somewhere* until Monday. Just defending my honor and integrity, Anne Lurie Raleigh, NC |
