Default Blue Cheese -- How to Use It??

So, there I am in Sam's Club -- looking at the cheeses. I've already
decided to never buy cheese again without checking Sam's first, especially
for Feta cheese (literally cheaper to buy at Sam's even if I throw out 75%
of it).

I bought a quart(?) container of Blue Cheese Crumbles (weight is 24 oz. but
it looks like a quart container to me).... and I'd like to hear some good
uses for all this bounty!

We're obviously going to put some on salad -- and melt some over steak --
but I'd like to hear other suggestions.

Thanks,

Anne Lurie

Yes, but what about the quality?

Mmmmm, blue cheese. Eat it straight. Doesn't have to be ON or IN
anything. It's nice to end a meal, with a small glass of dry red wine.

It's divine in eggs, a quiche with blue cheese and carmelized onion
and bacon is tres lovely. You can also stuff chicken breast with it,
or finish the night off with a bit of blue cheese and walnuts (or you
nut of choice) and a glass of vino. Sublime!

Cheers,

Mix in equal portions with cream cheese and stuff in celery.

Just eat it plain, and share it with your cat (my cat is very
insistent about blue cheese).

April.
Put out the cat.

BRBR

Bleu Cheese Omelet........mix in some basil when beating the egg mixture. Stuff
with red onion, sun-dried tomato, and bleu cheese.

We got the same vat o' Bluecheese at Sam's, and it's killer good.
Stuff some into celery stalks for a quick easy snack.
I'm planning on sprinkling some on Broccoli before I nuke it next time ( or
maybe just sprinkling it on afterwards). Ours is getting low, and we definitely
plan to get more ASAP. BTW-- Sam's around here also has a very nice Mexican
cheese which is LC.

Blue cheese added to cheese sauces will add a note of sharpness. Back
in the days, I used cheddar and blue together for macaroni and cheese.
Nowadays, I use sauces like that on veggies and as a cheese fondue.

Good in savory cheesecakes, quiches and layered cheese dishes.

Anne,

Mix blue cheese with a few tablespoons of cream and a teaspoon of Franks
hot sauce for a delicious sauce you put it on stir fried chicken. "Buffalo
Chicken nuggets" is what the local restaurant called them.

I remember using blue cheese in my regular LC quiche recipe once and the
color was--well--not very appetizing to say the least.
