George Foreman grill ??
"DestinyintheDark" wrote in message oups.com... Hey all! was just given a GF grill and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion for uses-tips-recipes etc... D Hi, We use our GF grill for fish, especially salmon, and to grill burgers. Occasionally we grill chicken on it. We especially used it in our old place, the appliances were very old. But now that we've moved into a new place, we use the stove and oven a lot more since they are brand new. But I especially love salmon and burgers on the George Foreman grill Jenn |

George Foreman grill ??
"Cheese" wrote in message ... DestinyintheDark wrote: Hey all! was just given a GF grill and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion for uses-tips-recipes etc... D Do you have an outdoor grill? If so I'd avoid fish or beef on the Foreman. The odor of those items cooking indoors can ruin a good meal. You may also find that the next time you use the grill you will still smell those odors as the grill preheats. I'd also avoid cooking meats that are marinated as the sauces will burn quickly and and leave you with a tough mess to clean up. The grill can't be submerged so soaking can't be done and trying to simply wipe burnt items from the cooking surface is difficult. Seasoned chicken, pork and vegetables come out quite good as well as grilled sandwiches. -- Cheese http://cheesensweets.com/contact/cheese George Foreman grills are not hard to clean. All you need to make the grill easy to clean is place a moist paper towel between the grids as soon as you have finished cooking and unplugged the grill. The heat from the grill combined with the moisture from the paper towel helps to soften anything left on the grill. When you want to clean the grill, use the paper towel to wipe the grids as clean as possible. If necessary, you can then use one of those mesh type plastic scrubbers to finish removing anything left on the grids. You can also use the plastic tool that comes with the grill to help clean the grids. I use my George Foreman grill on a regular basis and never had problems cleaning it. Most of the time the moist paper towels have done 90 percent of the cleaning job so the cleaning process is simple. I keep my grill on the counter; so I like to keep it very clean. |

Yup, the key to keeping it clean is to clean it *immediately*, you'll have no problem keeping it nice (that's good advice for any kind of kitchen equipment...). I've had mine for three years and use it several times weekly, it is still fairly pristine... As for cooking fish, generally speaking cooking fish by most any method in the home will result in a "fishy" odor. Keep exhaust fans/windows open or cook outdoors... -- Best Greg |
