However, I'd certainly look at any credible reports. +++++++++++ Personally, I take a TBS a day of it with a little water and 1/8 tsp salt substitute mixed in. I have been doing that for a long time now. Couldn't hurt, might help, and I like the taste. Cheri Uhm, why couldn't it hurt? Wouldn't a more rational approach be: Might help, probably won't hurt, and I like the taste. Just because it's natural doesn't mean it's inherently safe and just because there aren't studies condemning it, doesn't mean that it doesn't have long term health consequences that are slow and not pleasant. Lacking any studies on it, it might actually be hurting weight loss. Who knows? Not I. One way or another. Not contributing any knowledge on ACV, just pointing out that "Couldn't hurt, might help" is a position of uncertainty on both counts, not only the help side. Well, in my long term study on myself...it hasn't hurt, and might have helped...I started taking it many years ago when I read in an old folk remedy book that it helps to prevent food poisoning. Does it? I wouldn't know, though I haven't had food poisoning. Also, how could it hurt? If you used it mixed with olive oil every day on a salad, do you think it would be harmful? I don't. YMMV Cheri Here's the pathology.balance, vinegar being fairly acidic. In the day to day, and even year to year, no big deal. But the accumulated damage of say, 30-40 years of use could wear things out, by tipping a fairly acid environment (your digestive tract) into a more acidic one. If the 30-40 year pattern doesn't suit you, I can point you to type 2 diabetes, a disease generally earned through 30 years of systemic abuse. Again, it probably doesn't hurt and it might help. Couldn't is strong language in a world ruled by uncertainty. |

If you're afraid of your salad dressing, that's up to you, but at my age, I am not the least bit concerned with a 30-40 year pattern that "could" do this or that, since so very many things "could" do this or that over that time span. My best advice to you is...don't use it if you don't want to, but for me, I'll continue to use it because...I believe it couldn't hurt, might help.Take care. Cheri |
