He won't try Splenda? ;-)

Lynn is beginning to sneak Splenda in on her husband with the iced tea
she makes and keeps in the 'frige. It's pre-sweetened.

He's not noticed it so far......

The smell of Splenda makes him gag and the one
time he tasted something with it, he said he got
the nastiest aftertaste. I've heard of that
happening to a few people. He's not low-carbing
anyway, and probably will never need to.

No, but small amounts of it can still be incorporated if it's calcuated
into your daily totals...

If you do zero carb, your going to be consipated.

Ah, so THAT is why you are so full of ****?

Figures. ;-)

You just get classier and classier as time passes. And your use of
English so improves.

"Feel sorry for Laureen"?
Man...I admire her. It doesnt matter how she "got there". It matters
that she has decided to take control and beat her problem---which she IS
doing.

Not hard enough to live with that much weight...not hard enough to go
thru a dangerous surgery...not hard enough to have to learn new
behaviors....she also gets to listen to bull**** from Koinehead about
not doing it "his" preferred way.....

He really does think he's der Christ.

I admire Laureen. It's YOU I feel sorry for, JC. At least there's a real
human being in Layreen. No evidence of that in you.

All she had to do was eat less, which she is forced to do (for now).

Of course you won't understand this.

Such a scientific answer from Mr. Clueless. ;-)

There is FAR more to GP surgery than just "eating less".

Far more.

You have to use less splenda than sugar to get away from the aftertaste, you
can always add another sweetener to the tea to make it sweeter if you need
to.

JC, who said I feel sorry for her? WTF?

My husband is 179 and was 160 3 months ago. He will be close to 400 lbs
in
no time if he doesn't stop the freaking pop habit. Drinking 6 or more
cans a
pop a day is stupid, point blank. But I see your point, too. I don't
feel
sorry for Laureen, I am proud of her for making the decision to lose
weight
and being able to . I don't care how she did it. Did you have any fat
kids
in your class? How many? How did you treat them---any different than the
thin kids? I am just wondering because I seen so many over weight kids at
my
18yr olds graduation. Some were obese. It is hard to not feel bad for
them---they are kids. You show so much hate towards people who are fat,
is
your attitude the same towards fat kids/teens?

That reminds me. :-)
The 12 year old kid I'm working with has lost 3 lbs. in the last 2
weeks, and his "compulsive eating" is totally under control now that
he's given up starch and sugar!

He's noted that the compulsion is totally gone using low carbing. He's
surprised, thrilled and grateful. Fortunately, this kid is very bright
and able to see what was happening and correlate how he feels now.

Pop was his greatest evil as well, and he's switched to diet pops and
unsweetened teas. I'm working with him now on learning to cook as when
he gets back home with his mom (who is also heavy and eats a lot of mac'
and cheese) he will need to be able to prepare his own meals.

He's a meat eater so it's not that hard for him.....

He's also been going to the gym with me and stationary biking and doing
some weight lifting. We have to watch the weights as he is still growing.

Just some good news for one kid at least! Thought I'd share.....

Can't you get hubby to switch to diet sodas???
Is he concerned about his weight gain?

The sugar content in pop is awful. I drink *maybe* 5 diet colas a week. I
don't get it why my husband won't switch over---he has no problem drink diet
when he has gulped all his crap down. I think it's pathetic how much pop he
drinks. It ****es me off. He has to have this throat(esophagus) stretched
again because he has such bad errosion. He was told 1.5yrs ago that he had a
70yr old mans esophagus. You would think he would cut the pop,...nope.
Dumb.
Lol.. I know I am ranting, but it drives me nuts how someone who works out
so much, can drink crap like that.

Yeah, he is a bit concerned. He told me last week he was getting fat. He is
far from fat( has a lot of muscle), but seriously, you can not see his
stomach muscles any more and he had love handles. His chest and biceps are
awesome, though LOL

SO was drinking quite a bit of pop, but he doesn't gain weight. He has
recently switched to iced tea with only two tsp of sugar. That's much

Really? No weight gain on regular pop? Wow---lucky him. It has a lot more to
do with just weight gain. That much sugar is not good for your body. I am
one to talk--need to lose 20lbs, but at least I am working at it. I look
back at pictures of me at 100... too thin. Pictures of me at 120 are just
right)) I am short. My husband does like iced tea, but he then adds a cup
of sugar to it, so no difference. Dumb.

Oh Damn...

Does he drink any booze at all?

Eroded esophagus is no joke! If it breaks loose and starts bleeding, one
can bleed to death in no time at all! I've seen it at work. One person
coming in in that condition can tie up the entire lab for hours....

then die anyway. Lost one just a few days ago. sigh

It's no joke. He needs to knock it the hell off NOW!!!

Blessings and good luck!
I'm glad I lost my pop habit 19 years ago as a college student...
