TOD for SUPPS?
What time of day do you take your supplements? Does it matter?
I take my multi and my antioxidants with my coffee in the morning. But when should stuff like lecithin be taken? With a meal? Brfore or after a meal? What about fiber caps? My labels say, "Take 1 daily" . Not much help, there. Start LC~5-16-05 202-?-165 (i'm scale phobic) |

If they don't specify, you can take them at any time of day. Anything
fat-soluble, like some of the things in your multi, should be taken with a meal. Water-soluble things can be taken with or without food but drink a glass of water with them. Also be aware that the caffeine in your coffee is inhibiting the absorption of some of them. You'd be better off taking your multi with a different meal or switching to decaf coffee. I put lecithin granules in my morning smoothie but you could sprinkle them on any food. I don't use fibre caps but I do add acacia powder to my smoothie as well. Anything with psyllium will also inhibit absorption of some things, so I avoid psyllium. on Sat, 18 Jun 2005 21:09:09 -0400, (Lass Chance) wrote: What time of day do you take your supplements? thanks. I didnt know that about the caffeine---I was going on the idea
that the fat in the cream would be sufficient for the fat solubles.... No problem---just as easy to wait til breakfast. Start LC~5-16-05 202-?-165 (i'm scale phobic) |

I should also mention that iron should be taken separately from other
vitamins/minerals (ie. at a different time of day). It can also inhibit absorption of certain ones. I'm always amazed that the companies that produce multis continue to include them in the same tablet/capsule/etc. I always buy a multi that's iron-free for this reason. And by eating a sufficient amount of iron-providing foods, I don't need to use a supplement for it. on Sun, 19 Jun 2005 09:03:43 -0400, (Lass Chance) wrote: thanks.
