This month I seem to be back to a 1 pound per week rate, but last month was
about 2 pounds per week. Back when I was 300, ten pounds made a barely
observable change. Now, ten pounds is radical. As I approach goal range
the change in my looks seems to accelerate.

Last month my hands seemed strange and alien. This month my forearms feel
odd. I can place my hand around my wrist and it feels like someone else's.

I'm now back to a weight last visited in the mid 1980's.

I got tired of going to TOPS meetings, so I stopped going. However, my one
month there was interesting.

Once a month, I attend an electronics flea market. It involves an hour of
walking. This month was the first where I was not in pain after scanning
all the booths.

Twice in the last two weeks I have had my ID challenged by store clerks. My
VISA card has my picture on it. They asked if this was me, and then wanted
to see additional ID.

I used to divide household chores like vacuuming across several days.
Yesterday, I vacuumed the whole house at once and was not in pain.

I got the second phase of paperwork from the National Weight Control
Registry. They do ask a lot of biased questions. However, the scope of the
questions does convey an idea of what I'm doing.

I wonder if all these changes you're noticing aren't just as important as
the numbers on a scale. Losing weight is all about bettering the quality
of our lives and being able to walk around your flea market or vacuuming
all at once are great indications of that that's exactly what's happening
.

It is a violation of their contract with MasterCard/VISA to require
additional identification on a *signed* card. Pet peeve of mine. If
you want them to check ID "for your protection", just leave the card
unsigned.

Me, I'll rely on my $50 exposure limit for unauthorized purchases, and
keep the ability to loan my card to my SO.

I'm glad to hear things are going so well for you, Cubit!

I'm starting to get questioning looks re my ID, too. At first I picked
out the words "ID" and "challenged" and had a different reaction,
though -- twice in the last month or so I've had my CREDIT
challenged/compromised. I got a VISA bill with a charge on it from
FRANCE (I think a spammer opened an ISP account there). I rarely use
that card, but I charged things from 3 different electronics stores
late last year, so the breach had to come from one of them (Fry's, Best
Buy and Circuit City). Then last week I got a letter informing me that
someone broke into one of the offices of a local medical group and
stole two computers which contained about 185K medical records (with
SSNs), including mine. Sigh ...

Thank you for sharing Cubit. I started out needing to lose 153 pounds,
and currently have 31 to go. I, too, feel different. My weight loss
has slowed, but the inches continue to go, and so does the "shape" of
my body. It's a great feeling. Congratulations to you... and thanks
again for sharing.

All of these stories are SO inspiring! I totally believed, before starting
to learn about LC, that the ONLY way to lose larger amounts of weight was
through surgery. Reading about the losses of over 100# excites me to the
point I want to cry .

It feels great to be able to do so much, isn't it? Congrats.

Hey Sherry,

I was 52 pounds heavier than you when I started, and while I'm still
about 75 pounds from my goal, having lost about 160 pounds has made a
huge difference in my life.

And I did it low carbing - no surgery. As my motto goes, "Don't mess
with the kishkas."

Myra that makes my heart sing! Not just because of the potential I feel
for myself in reading about it, but for how great that must be for you .

Thanks for your note, what great motivation!

It is great - except for the last couple of weeks. I injured my back,
so I'm sort of laid up and can't get to the gym right now. That
sucks.

To be honest, I did get down to 221.75 at one point - 190.25 pounds
down, but I had some regain last year. I'm almost back to where I
was, and I've been okayed for a panniculectomy later this year.

You can see my latest picture (and older ones) he

You're very welcome1
