SWAG
I've read that when marathon runners hit-the-wall, it their transition from carb based to fat based energy. If you are already in Ketosis when you start, you would not hit-the-wall. ? SWAG = Scientific Wild Ass Guess "Ignoramus26859" wrote in message ... After switching to my LC paleo diet, I noticed an increase in endurance. I usually run for 30 minutes. I used to be tired by the end of the run, but now I feel as fresh as if I just started running. I cannot scientifically explain why that is so. Anyway, I would like to experiment a bit and run longer, and maybe run a half marathon without deviating from my LC plan. Where I end up will depend on how well it goes as I ramp up the distance. My question is, can anyone offer relevant personal experiences here? Another question, at slow running speed, can one run using body fat as primary source of energy? i |

I don't care if you are in ketosis or not. Working out on LC is great, but if you want to go far and faster, you need carbs. It really is a no brainer. Unless you think the whole athletic world is wrong. Curt |

I certainly take in nowhere near the amount of recommended carbs. -- Bob in CT Remove ".x" to reply |

if a human being could drink gasoline instead of eating hamburgers to take
in calories, a human being could run 26 miles on about one-twelfth of a gallon of gas. In other words, a human being gets more than 300 miles per gallon! If you put a human being on a bicycle to increase the efficiency, a human being can get well over 1,000 miles per gallon! http://health.howstuffworks.com/diet1.htm Placid wrote in message efhrq-jvgu.arg...
