idea for low-carb ketchup packet-substitute

What do people in the group use ketchup for? In the past, I have only used ketchup for french fries. Since I don't eat french fries anymore, I don't use ketchup. Meatloaf, hamburgers, hot dogs, eggs, sausages, bacon, corned beef hash (still have on occasion). I also use BBQ on chicken cutlets, ribs. WHen I go out I will have more carby meals, but I'm trying to be as conservative as possible. At home I use it when making taco/chili & meatloaf. And good fries/potatoes don't need ketchup. That's why I only ate KFC's potato wedges--they are good by themselves. French fries are boring. Never understood why people liked fast food fries--they're just a edible serving utensil for ketchup. "john" wrote in message .. . What do people in the group use ketchup for? Hamburgers, Hotdogs, and (I know this will gross some of you out) scrambled eggs. Au contraire! Scrambled eggs with mayo & ketchup is tres bon! I have a fabulous shrimp recipe that uses a small amount of ketchup in the sauce, too. Then there's meatloaf. That's about all I use ketchup for, and rarely at that, so I'm still using regular ketchup. Not enough or often enough to warrant buying LC ketchup yet. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sh0rtcircuit (Deb) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

... I have a fabulous shrimp recipe that uses a small amount of ketchup in the sauce, too. Care to share? I have a fabulous shrimp recipe that uses a can of tomato soup that is out of this world. I'll post it (not especially a low carb recipe, but in limited amounts it is OK) I'll post mine if you post yours.....:-) TERRIFIC SHRIMP MOLD /SPREAD 1 can tomato soup 2 pkgs knox gelatine Dissolve gelatine in 1/4 cup hot water and blend into tomato soup while still warming on stove blend in 6 oz room temperature cream cheese & remove from heat add 1/4 cup chopped onion 3/4 cup chopped celery 2 cans shrimp - chopped 1 cup mayonnaise Grease bowl or mold w/butter Pour mixture in and chill till set Gently loosen edges with a knife then unmold Note: I have seen this done in a mold shaped like a fish, with cucumber slices arranged artfully like scales, and garnished with various vegetables. -- Regards, Evelyn (to reply to me personally, remove 'sox") Then there's meatloaf.
