Default South Beach - Question

Is it worth paying to join, I mean what do you really get out of it for the
money they are asking to be a member?

I am trying to discourage someone from joining as she is doing just fine on
her own losing weight.

Any advice about the difference in what you get when you pay and what you
can do on your own would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

Check out the thread "South Beach Diet Online" in this newsgroup (from Sept
2003) for at least one user's unhappy experience with their web site and
customer service.

Well, according to the SBD Writer and the Paid Nutritionists, South Beach
IS NOT A LOW CARB Diet. Its a GOOD CARB DIET!

Secondly, according to the site, the book is outdated and "RESEARCH is
coming
in everyday fast and furious" and thats why you need the site and/or the
upcoming
new book thats coming out! Can you say "CA-CHING?"

The Website is basically the "Book Online" but with TONS of misinformation..
They've hired too few Nutritionists, and the ones they have, have too little
training.
I asked a few questions and they didnt know the latest info.
Also, they allow too many "USERS" of the site to answer questions and the
Nutritionists
dont bother correcting them.
I think it's best they did away with the message boards altogether except
for ONE place to
pose Questions to the Author or Nutritionists! To allow the other dieters to
answer questions
on a diet book and site that are as confusing and as poorly written as the
SBD is, is only setting
the people behind the book up for Liability Suits!

Basically Dr Agatston is taking advantage of the death of Dr Atkins, by
trashing Atkins' research
yet trying to grab a piece of the lucrative Low Carb action for himself!

Sorry if this doesnt answer your Q. but rather trashes the diet but I was
fed up with the SBD and
its website handlers...
I cancelled and returned the book...

OMG no wonder she was soooo exhausted...
SBD is a poorly written joke!

My theory on why ppl are sooo sluggish and tired on SBD is this:

Food For Thought:
I think I ate far too much, and felt pressured to eat to stay within the "NO
SKIP MEALS or SNACKS" rule!
I dont understand HOW The SBD can work if there is no Ketosis allowed and
carbs are restricted! If you have no energy cause you have no glucose energy
from carbs and you arent allowed to
reach Ketosis thus you arent burning your own fat and producing ketones then
where is your energy supposed to come from????
How was I supposed to BURN FAT???
NO wonder I was feeling soooo awful!
I was STUFFING myself and had no energy cause I was zapped and didnt wanna
do anything to burn the calories I was consuming and so the food just sat
there!
NO WONDER I HAD CHEST PAINS!
