KFC Commercial
I just saw a commerical for KFC telling the carb count for their chicken.
I have noticed more and more in the last week that there are advertisements geared toward low carbers. Are the "experts" finally realizing or are the companies switching gears? Either way, I'm glad that the tide is turning in our favor. |

I have a feeling we are going to see more and more low carb products that are not low carb at all, or have been all along. ~Kat "Rice Krispies. East meets west" Cosmo Kramer |

I don't remember the carb-count for KFC, but it was like "just 13 grams in 1 chicken breast" which sounds pretty high to me (induction). And 1 chicken breast isn't much. |

Certainly a 'marketing' ploy, if nothing else. There's a second commercial where one guy is bicycling by another, stops and says, "Dave, is that you? You look great! How'd ya do it?" And Dave replies, "Eating chicken... Just chicken...", switch to tag line where they talk about how LOW FAT the chicken is. So they want to get people in whatever their diet plan is; Low carb, Low fat, Family easy dining, etc. Steve I do not work for KFC. :-) |

That's only if you eat the breading, otherwise it's zero carbs. The ad was pretty groundbreaking actually; This was the first mainstream fast food restaurant to advertise a low-carb product geared toward low-carb dieters on national U.S. television. I thought it was great! You guys sound pretty cynical for not having seen the ads! -- Peter website: http://users.thelink.net/marengo |

20/20 was talkng about KFC commericials Friday night. A chicken breast
has 11 carbs, if you remove the skin it has 0 carbs. I love the skin but it's not worth 11 carbs for me. |

I haven't seen the low carb commercial, just their disgusting "laptop" pack
commercial for kids. 2 moms in the front seat taking the kids to soccer practice. Hands them these "laptop" meals with a piece of chicken, applesauce, potatoes, fruit leather thing and a sugared soda. Yuck. My kids can do without that thank you. Amy "SRDENBOW" wrote in message ... I've never seen this ad, but I have seen a bunch of Miller Lite ads that mention the low carb count (and revert to the old "Tastes Great/Less Filling" theme). I've also seen neon signs in bars touting Miller Lite as low carb. -- AF "Non Sequitur U has a really, really lousy debate team." --artyw raises the bar on rec.sport.baseball |

The KFC fast food ad though is the first I've seen where they actually say, "If you are counting your carbs ...." Ironically, the same day I saw for the first time - and this was on a national cable network also - an ad for LeCarb frozen products, which they say is perfect for someone on a "low-carb diet." I feel that we're about to come out of the low-carb closet and become mainstream! What's next? A MacDonald's low-carb menu? O Happy Day!! -- Peter website: http://users.thelink.net/marengo |
