Default Atkins Peanut Butter Advantage Bars

I was wondering if anyone know if the Peanut Butter Atkins Advantage
bars aren't being made anymore. I was able to once buy them at
Hannaford and GNC, but no longer. I checked www.vitacost.com and they
are "out of stock" I am wondering if this is for a reason... Anyone
know?

Thanks

This is my favorite flavor and I can't seem to find them locally or online,
either. (Though just the other day I did resort to paying almost $40 for the
one and only box I was able to find in all of LA County and Cyberspace.)

I was told by Trader Joes that they are having trouble getting Atkins products
from their suppliers. And here is what is stated on Netrition's website:

Atkins has discontinued the Chocolate Raspberry and Lemon Chiffon flavored
Advantage Bars.
Due to high demand, some of the Atkins products are temporarily unavailable.
We are doing our best to keep all Atkins products in stock, but the
manufacturer is having a difficult time keeping up with the demand. Some Atkins
products have been removed from the web site if the "out of stock" period may
be longer than 7 to 10 days. We will add them back to the site as soon as they
are available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

I love the PB Advantage bars, so at a recent distributors event I
asked someone at Atkins what was going on. They told me that they
expect to open a new manufacturing plant in January. They said to
expect full distribution of the entire product line shortly after.

Lets hope, cause I miss those PB bars!

My favorite grocery store was just taken over by Albertsons' Jewel-Osco unit and
they've added some Atkins products. They had the chocolate coated peanut butter
bars for $2.59 each. I can buy a box for $14 online so I skipped the bars but
bought some premixed shakes for $2.00/can on sale. Glad to see the new store
has a low carb section. The old one didn't.

Atkins has discontinued some flavors of the bars. Latest catalog doesn't
include Praelines 'n Cream, which I loved. I think they are revamping their
entire line. I ordered some shake mixes and they've changed too. Now 13
servings per canister instead of 11 but it is also "spoon stirable" so maybe
they've just made the scoop smaller to dilute the shakes. Haven't tried one
yet.

Just FYI, I saw several boxes of these available at Sam's Club in
Charleston, SC. If you are a member of Sam's you may want to check there.

I've never tried these, but i take it that they are pretty good? =)
