Frozen chicken breast and George Foreman Grill

Just how thick were these chicken breasts? Was the grill able to close completely? Was each side of the chicken breast being touched by the grill? I have a Hamilton Beach, with no temperature control, it's either on or off. If yours has a temperature setting, what was it set to? |

Yep, it was all warmed up and turned on. It ended up taking like 25 minutes
to cook all the way through. I wonder why it took so long? It could be your ele. outlet. ~Kat "The early bird gets the worm, the second mouse gets the cheese." |

Frozen chicken breast and George Foreman Grill

Why wouldn't it be safe if you cook them until they are done? I think that is the issue to be sure they are done. It takes longer to cook if you do it this way. I usually pop them in the micro for the defrost cycle then in the Foreman. I store them in freezer ziplock bags, and thaw in a sink of warm water. When I thaw them in the microwave, the points of the breast tend to get cooked. -- jamie ) "There's a seeker born every minute." |

news:FV3Fc.38090$Yu.34563@fed1read04... Anyone know how long this is supposed to take? I have a 4oz frozen chicken breast that's been on there 15 minutes so far and it's still very under cooked. The book says 9 minutes, but that must be for thawed out. I'm worried I'm going to to over cook the outside. Thaw it in the microwave first. If your microwave has a power setting, start with a minute at full power and then give it the second minute at half power and the third minute on about 1/3 power. Allow it to stand for a couple of more minutes and it should be thawed enough to cook then. Another option is to put the chicken breast on a metal surface, like a frying pan (that is not turned on). Cover it and forget about it for a while. This can take an hour or so. You will notice it has thawed more quickly than any other way (other than microwaving it). The pan conducts the cold and allows it to dissipate more quickly. It actually works the same way as those thawing pans they used to sell. Any pan will do it. Another method of quick thawing is to put it in a ziploc bag and immerse the bag in water for a while. The water also conducts the cold allowing it to thaw quicker. If you thaw it fist, you won't have a burnt outside and a raw inside. Some of my favorite quickie seasonings for a chicken breast are to sprinkle on some Paul Prudhommes Magic seasoning, or else marinate it for a few minutes in some teryaki sauce. Neither one should add any appreciable carbs to the chicken but it will taste great. -- Regards, Evelyn (to reply to me personally, remove 'sox") |

I did chicken breasts and they sort of steamed themselves done before they even got golden. It doesnt clean up easy either. I think I like BBQ and my electric skillet better |

To clean mine I do the following: Plug in the grill. Take about 4-5
paper towels very wet and place inside. As soon as it starts "sizzling" pull the plug. Once the grill cools down everything simply wipes off. Because the grill cooks so quickly it doesn't "brown" very well. However, I really love mine and use it a lot. AJ Laureen wrote: "Greg" wrote in message news:FV3Fc.38090$Yu.34563@fed1read04...
