I am a newbie and need help :)
Hello all,
I am new to Atkins and I really hope to lose weight. I need to. I have signed up with ediets to have daily menu. Has anybody tried this? If yes with what kind of results. I am eating enough but here is the problem: I am not losing weight like I should and I am not in Ketosis. I have excluded from the diet red meat, pork and bacon. I also now that some high blood pressure medicine make me metabolic resistant but I cannot stop taking at this time. Doctors orders. What should I do to reach ketosis? Any suggestion is appreciated. Thank you |

You haven't said how long you have been doing this, or how much you weigh.
How do you know how much weight you "should" be losing, everyone is different, some lose slowly or perhaps it is just your perception and expectations that are off. How do you know you are not in ketosis--how many carbs per day are you eating? Why would you exclude red meat, pork and bacon--Atkins is strong on these. ok,ok, I forgot some important info..... I told you I was new
ok, I weigh 383 lb and I started about 3 weeks ago. Took me some time to get organized so lets say about 10 days. The reason way I don't eat red meat, pork and bacon is because I have a problem with Uric Acid, if it goes up I get gout. In the ediets menus there is a lot of cheese since I took off the meat. I now that I am not in Ketosis because I checked with the strips, just like the book says to do. In these 10 days I have lost a little and I understand that going slow is ok, just want to be sure I am on the right path. Thank you for the help. "Augie" wrote in message ... ok,ok, I forgot some important info..... I told you I was new
ok, I weigh 383 lb and I started about 3 weeks ago. Took me some time to get organized so lets say about 10 days. The reason way I don't eat red meat, pork and bacon is because I have a problem with Uric Acid, if it goes up I get gout. In the ediets menus there is a lot of cheese since I took off the meat. I now that I am not in Ketosis because I checked with the strips, just like the book says to do. I am eating 20 carbogram per day and I am following the quantities indicated
