Default Low carb rocks - and a tip

I have lost 40 lbs following a low carb diet. I love it - and I have
kept it off for over a year.

I have a tip to add.

I recently learned something about calorie shifting. Often when we
diet, if we decrease our calories, it can slow our metabolism.

If we vary our eating, with some high consumption days, we can keep
our metabolism high, and burn calories better.

What I learned is to have a high calorie day at least every 10 or so
days, to keep matabolism strong.

I have more at my blog: http://best-weight-loss-tips.blogspot.com/

Come see what I've got and tell me your favorite tips.

My favorite tip is to avoid spamming Usenet.

Although SPAM *is* low-carb.

I imagine rocks would be low-carb.

As for the tip, 15% is customary.

I have a high-calorie day every day, so that's 10 times better, right?

Nice start.

That's called "starvation mode" by many folks. I know the
hormone feedback loops involved if carb intake is set too
low - leptin drives T3. There are bound to be hormone
feedback loops driven by eating too little fat, protein or
total calories as well.

If we vary our eating, with some high consumption days, we can keep
our metabolism high, and burn calories better.

Check out "leptin reset".

What I learned is to have a high calorie day at least every 10 or so
days, to keep matabolism strong.

There is no need to increase total calories, just carbs. Weight
training folks cycle back and forth from low carb to low fat and
back to low carb again every couple of weeks for example.

I have a high-calorie day every day, so that's 10 times better, right?

Chortle.

I love it when you can learn something from what started as Spam. Ok I
learned it from Doug's reply to Spam. I found this review that is very
interesting and informational about Leptin and other hormones such as
ghrelin:

Thanks,

Be cautioned - While the article starts with good information it
ends with a list of products.

An interesting feature of leptin - One form is released by stored fat
so folks with 100+ to lose have plenty. It's part of why "more to
lose, faster to lose it; less to loss, slower to lose it" is true.
Another form is released by the liver in response to the highest
daily carb intake in the last few months. It's part of why folks with
under 100 to lose can see stalls from staying on Induction and it's
part of why that strange wording on continued Induction is the
way it is - There's a 6 month limit after the point you no longer
have a lot to lose. It's because that's how to drive both sources
of leptin low.

Still lots to lose, so you need not be worried about staying too
low and need not be interested in a leptin reset until 6 months
after you hit 250.
