Default Mmmmmm, I cheated

I cheated. It was my first *SERIOUS* cheat in months, since I started
in fact. I had, among other things:

challah bread dipped in honey
potato latkes
sweet carrots
triple chocolate brownie pizza
apple crisp
cheesecake
banana cake
chocolate chip ice cream

and... you know what? It was good. I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it,
or say that with all that sugar "it was just too sweet for me"...
because it wasn't too sweet for me. It was heaven, just like it was
before I started this WOE.

But, I also realize that I've made too much progress to ever go back to
eating that way full time. It's nice to do, maybe once or twice a year.

I bet I gained at least 5 pounds tonight... darn and I was doing so well.

Well, double time on the treadmill tomorrow.

I've often envied those who lose their taste for the stuff they used to
eat, and those who eat it and don't like it anymore - or at least not
nearly enough for it to be majorly tempting. Just so you know you
aren't alone in still liking the stuff. :-)

It won't kill you, at least it's really unlikely. You aren't a diabetic
are you?

Take care,

Get right back on and don't woorry about it. any initial weight gain you
see is probably water. I noticed that after my first BIG cheat (chicken
fried steak, three helpings of mashed spuds, bisguits & gravy and biscuits &
honey--topped off with birthday cake and REAL ice cream) the weight loss
actually accelerated. Note that that was just one meal and I jumped right
back on the wagon. Keep up the good work!

Yes, and the day of atonement is coming soon! Maybe sooner than
you think! Happy New Year! :-)

No, but I kept expecting to go into some kind of diabetic coma. Man,
that was a lot of sugar in a short amount of time. Probably had more
carbs in one night, than I've had in the entire three months I've been
eating this way.

Take care,
Carmen

Nope, neither of you are alone at all! Every time I've cheated I *do* regret
it afterwards, but I sure as heck love every bite as I'm doing it.

Well, I gained 3 pounds from last night's fun. I figure about 1½ will
come off easily (water?) and the rest I'll have to work at. Back to
induction for a few days.

Oh, thank g-d I wasn't the only one who fell apart on Rosh Hashanna. Darn
apples-in-honey! They just set me off! I am back on induction, too -- and
worried about my mom's break-fast. THAT will be a challenge. Is Passover
too far away to start worrying about that, too?

Sounds wonderfully tempting.
I'd like to be one of those who doesn't care for sweets anymore.. but
that's just not me. I have a major sweettooth.. the richer the better.

One thing that I have noticed that my tastebuds have changed
'against'.. bread(white) and potatoes and rice. I have to cover them
with a tremendous amount of spices /topping in order to enjoy them the
least little bit.

Sounds like you are being sensible about it.. and only wishing to
enduldge once or twice a year this way. Hey.. It's for life.. you
would be silly to say 'never'. in my opinion.

Enjoy... get on track the next day.. more exercise, more water, more
lc veggies..
You're doing great
