I do understand this to a certain point; there certainly are destitute
people who cannot afford to buy food and have to depend on charity. I
also used to be involved in volunteering at a food bank operated by my
church. However, few of these hungry, destitute people are able to post on
computers to usenet newsgroups. I'm just a bit skepitcal in this case; the
OP has said some things in other posts --and in other newsgroups -- that
are a bit contradictory.

I'm certainly not unsympathetic to anyone who truly can't afford meat with
any meal and is forced to live on charity.

(p.s. When told that the peasants had no bread and were starving , maybe
Marie Antoinette should have said "Then Let them eat meat!" instead of her
infamous, facetious "Then let them eat cake!" g)

You say you can't afford the book but you were asking about low carb
chocolate earlier. Chocolate isn't food. It's a treat. If you can
afford low
carb chocolate you can afford the paperback book.

Yes I asked about chocolate because I didn't want to mess up, not
because I have the money to splurge on books when I could ask for info
here

Ahhh ok, so you thought that since this newsgroup of volunteers was here
that they would do your work for you? That people would take time out of
their own lives to answer all your questions so you didn't have to bother
spending time reading to find out how the diet works? That must be the
answer since it was pointed out to you several times that there is a free
website with all the information you need on it and any library worth the
name will have at least one copy of DANDR on the shelves.

Heaven forbid you buy a book that will help you stay healthy the rest of
your life when you could buy chocolate instead!!

Just for the record, so I don't scare newbies away )..........
this newsgroup is one of the best support groups I've ever seen and people
here are more than happy to answer questions for people who don't understand
something they've read, are confused about aspects of different low carb
plans, are confused about inconsistancies within their chosen diet plan, are
having trouble losing and need guidance on what they're eating, and a whole
slew of other things. They're more than happy to give opinions on sugar
alcohols, net carbs, fiber counting, how to deal with skeptics and
saboteurs, and just about any other subject you can think of.

What most people here lose patience with *very* quickly is someone who wants
us to do their work for them so they don't have to be bothered (or so they
can buy chocolate instead).

They have these new things called "libraries" where they'll let you
read books for free.

And it's not a novel idea either. I'm reading the book, given to me
courtesy of the local library.

I can only afford the food for the diet and that's why I have been
asking questions all of you have already read. That's the reason why
I'm overweight, I buy food that's on sale rather than what I should be
eating. Until now that is, I have widened my budget. (but not enough
for the book)

The paperback costs less than your monthly payment for your comcast
account. It's also available free from public libraries, and very cheap
from used bookstores.

You all must calm down and find something that is worthwhile to get
heated over!!!! Geeze!!!! It's a support group that I asked a couple
questions on, not the whole book's instructions. And I have been
reading the online version, so thank you all who actually come here to
help rather than get all worked up over nothing!

a book?
