Default good source of low carb flavorings?

I would like to find a good source of low carb
flavorings. I know there da Vinci syrups, but
I would like to sweeten it myself. Some of the
concentrates I have tried haven't really been
very good. Are their any truly excellent flavorings
out there?

Yes, they're called extracts, and you can buy them in the spice aisle,
or baking aisle. I have orange, almond, banana and maple. I add the
maple to sugar free syrup to make it taste like the real stuff. I use
the others to flavor LC muffins.

I'm not sure this is what you are talking about, but I've found that
Walden Farms Bar BQ sauce, syrup (needs a little something, maybe the
maple extract someone suggested), and some of their salad dressings are
pretty good. Expecially, the Bar BQ sauces. Basically, their powdered
air: no calories, no sugar, no carbs, just a smidge of salt. I
concidered it a blessing to have stumbled on to them. Now I can have
Bar BQ chicken or ribs, without worrying about the sugar/calories in
the sauce!!!

Lorann Oils are supposed to be quite good. I've stuck mostly to Da
Vinci's SF stuff, myself, but really only found a few that I like, so
maybe I'll be trying some of the Lorann stuff soon.

LOL I too add imitation maple syrup extract to liquid splenda and
saccharine for a beverage that seems like drinking maple syrup. It feels
very indulgent. I have a 32 ounce glass of it on the table beside me, that
I have been using to take my supplement pills this morning. I like the
maple better, if I warm it in the microwave.

I like Banana too, but I can't stand the almond extract. Have you tried
anise extract? I make a beverage out of anise that tastes like Good &
Plenty candy, which I loved as a kid. Sweetened anise needs to be very cold
to taste right.

Honestly, I use the maple about once per year, since I pretty
scrupulously avoid artificial foods and sweeteners. I used to make
maple butter and fortify the maple syrup when my child ate that stuff.

I haven't used the almond in anything but baking, same with the citrus
and banana.

I don't seem to have a sweet tooth anymore, and if I do, I just have a
small bit of very dark chocolate. A regular sized bar lasts weeks,
unless my family hits my stash. I don't like sweet drinks, I've even
given up the occasional Fresca, my old fave. The most flavoring I go
for is citrus essence in seltzer.
